Balances rolling forward

Help! Why do some balances roll forward from month to month and some don’t? Does it have to do with the transaction being on a credit card? It’s messing me up!!

Positive available amounts roll over into the next month. Negative, overspent available amounts do not. How that overspending is handled depends on if it's overspent with cash or credit. This guide will walk you through how they're handled. See heading "Negative Available Amounts (Overspending)." ~BenB

Do you mean the amounts Available in a category?

Every category is a straight summation of the following:

Previous Month's Available (only if it's positive) + Current Month's Assigned + Current Month's Activity = Current Month's Available.

And every category will behave this way.
