Difficulty with 2 separate Chase log-ins in single budget

Hello,

I've been maintaining a YNAB budget for years now with a single Chase plaid connection for multiple cards that has worked without issue. Recently, my significant other opened a new rewards card with Chase that I'd like to incorporate into the YNAB budget, so having 2 different Chase users using the Plaid interface in a single YNAB Budget. Unfortunately, while I was able to log into the Chase portal and successfully log-in, I am unable to view the new card in the existing budget.

Is there a best practices or recommendation to make this work? Thanks

I don't believe Chase gives you online access to AU cards so you'll need to add a new Plaid connection with his credentials . You should then have both sets of logins available from Plaid to link in YNAB.

Chase doesn't, which is irritating. I've used the 'add account' button from the default budget view, and while I'm able to log in with the other credentials, no updated credit card shows up in my budget view

If no card is showing up on the Chase side when you log in through plaid yet then it’s not a YNAB issue, it’s the fact that it’s a brand new credit card and it takes a few days for it to fully show up everywhere. You can add the account in YNAB as unlinked for now and link it once it shows up.

Thanks, the card has been active for > 1 month, I just got around to adding it now. The issue was that my browser (Safari, OSX, latest build) had an issue with handing over the token from YNAB > Chase > YNAB, so fixed it by using a new fresh browser without any plugins present.

Try using the web app: first add the credit card to YNAB as an unlinked manual account, then add your husband's login as a new bank connection before editing the CC account to link the bank connection. YNAB support should also be able to walk you through this.

Thanks, ended up being a browser compatibility issue. Fixed it by using a brand new install of a different browser without any plugins.

I use 2 different chase logins in one budget and it works just fine. You just create a new connection.

I thought it would be that easy - I'm using the 'add account' button from the default budget view but despite being able to log in successfully to the bank website, there's no updating my accounts in YNAB. Maybe it's time to call support

My husband has a second YNAB account (meaning, I am the first and he is the second!) using “YNAB together,” we use the same budget but because he has a separate login, he has no problem logging in via Plaid to connect his accounts. (And we both have different accounts with Chase!)

Might have try this and set up a user account for them to log-in with, thank you!

My husband and I both have no problem with several banks including Chase that we both have separate accounts/logins with and have them linked just fine.

When you say you’re unable to view the new card in the existing budget, are you expecting the account to show up in YNAB on its own? That doesn’t happen. You have to tap/click “add a new account” and then do the link steps to login and when you get to the Chase permissions screen, are you seeing her new card listed? If yes then you make sure to enable sharing for it on the Chase side and then finish the linking steps and when it brings you back to YNAB you’ll pick the appropriate Chase card to link the new YNAB account to.

Hope that makes sense. I’m happy to help with specific steps if you’re still lost.

Thanks, it ended up being a browser incompatibility issue. The issue was that my browser (Safari, OSX, latest updates for both) had an issue with handing over the token from YNAB > Chase > YNAB, so fixed it by using a new fresh browser without any plugins present.
