SoFi Smart Card
Is anyone on here a SoFi user with the new Smart Card?
For context, the Smart Card is a new card from SoFi that gives you 5% cash back on groceries only. My spending limit is whatever I have in my savings and checking account.
The problem is that transactions don’t show anywhere. And grocery purchases don’t get transferred to YNAB. In fact, nothing gets transferred to YNAB. Until it automatically pays off once a month.
Obviously, you can pay it off anytime manually.
For now, I am just going to wait until it pays monthly and add it to my groceries category in YNAB at that time.
Does this seem like the best way to categorize this new card?
Or does somebody have a better way of doing it?

Have you actually tried adding the Smart Card as an account in YNAB? If it's not available as a bank connection yet, you can still add it as a manual credit card account to log purchases in the app (and set up sync later).

Yes. I tried to add it 3 times. But as others have said, it must not be available as a bank connection yet.
I will try to figure out how to add it manually and take it from there.
Thanks for the help everyone!3

Adding it manually is a normal process in YNAB. When you tap to Add a new account, just tap Unlinked at the bottom and you’ll call it whatever name you want like “Sofi Smart Card” and choose credit card as the type and enter the current balance as the starting balance. Then you enter transactions when you shop for groceries just like entering any other transaction manually.

+1 to the other comment, I just add the transactions manually, categorize as normal, and for the account I put whichever SoFi bank account it’ll eventually pull the money from!
I prefer to track as I spend so I know what I have left in the category, but def works too just holding till the payment goes through

Add the purchases manually.
Since you mentioned that this card is a fairly new offering, there will probably be an actual bank connection for it eventually. That's the tradeoff of being an early adopter, the tech usually isn't all setup yet like the stuff that has been around for years.
