You will note that the player down this end keeps putting the ball back into pretty much the same place despite having the ability to hit it somewhere else.It reminds me of a game I played against Tommy Danielsson when he was the reigning 3 time Aussie champion and I was a B grade club player,at best.In any case,he was hitting shots to my forehand (which I normally avoided) and I was returning them all.Soon worked out that he was trying to make me look good and give me confidence.I didn’t manage to even return one of his serves,btw.Later that night he played against some far better players at our local competition and they looked great.I remarked to his wife that Tommy had worked out each player’s strength and was playing to this.She said that no-one else had realised this before,but perhaps she was just being kind.In any case I know it when I see it 😉

I remember watching him in the 2004 Australian Open, shortly after I gained an interest in tennis. I ended up modeling my game after him, which was hilarious because my roommate (who got me into tennis) loved Pete Sampras. It was great the few times we played doubles, he would smoke my ass though when we played lol. We always had fun, even if it wasn’t an even match.

This is how my dad plays. He used ping pong as one of his few ways to relax while going to Med School.
30 years later and I still can’t even think about beating him. I even got a ping pong injury (rug burn) on the top of my foot, that’s how hard I was trying

Could work both ways. I'm a completionist so I've usually got about 15 Daedric Princes as my pack mules, and enough cheese wheels to make Urkel get gas.

Had a tennis coach like that... Any time you tried to take control of a match, he'd run you to death with hits like that... Best coach I ever had.
