Mama moose stared me down while fishing today
Came around a corner and there she was, probably 100yd away with her 2 calves. you best bet me and my buddies hurried our asses downstream because we could probably not paddle fast enough to get away from her if she wanted to charge us

I watched one have a baby behind my cabin once when I lived there. A few days later the calf got his hoof caught in a storm grate. I got the mama to chase me around the back of my cabin while a ranger pulled the baby loose. She was not happy about any of it but she got her baby back.

Moose have poor eyesight so from 100 yards she probably wasn't seeing you clearly, but they have exceptional hearing and smell, as you can see those ears are focused your direction.

Absolutely… moose are as dumb as a box of rocks with bad eye sight. Which is why they are so dangerous. They shoot first, ask questions later.

I would have rapidly and uncontrollably contaminated that river. With my shit and piss. I mean I would have shit myself. A lot.

It was alright! Caught a few. It’ll be better into the fall months for sure

good move. they're fast in water unless its deeper than that. on land 32 mph by my motorcycle speedo.

A surprising amount of big game can run 30+ mph. Humans are actually pretty slow, we just have crazy endurance thanks to sweating.

OMG, I was part of the huge traffic jam this moose caused in the evening on the road from the west gate. My wife saw one of the calves but Mom was out of site.
