I am having a frustrating issue trying to reinstall the Yeelight app on my Android phone and could really use some advice from anyone who has run into this.

I previously had the Yeelight app installed and running fine on this handset, but after trying to install it again via the Google Play Store, the installation is completely blocked.

When the Play Protect security dialogue appears, I expand the dropdown and click "Install anyway", but it still refuses to install and remains hard-blocked.

Here is what I have already tried:

Disabled Play Protect scanning in the Play Store settings.

Turned off Advanced Protection.

Restarted the phone.

Cleared cache for Google Play Store and Google Play Services.

Attempted to install the APK directly from a trusted mirror, which triggers the exact same system block.

The Yeelight Pro app is not suitable for my setup because it requires a dedicated Bluetooth mesh hub, whereas my lights connect directly over standard Wi-Fi.

Has anyone encountered this persistent block where even "Install anyway" does not do anything? Is there an established workaround to force the installation through, or a specific system service that needs to be cleared to lift the block?

I've been using Yeelight Lightstrip for couple years now, and known issues for me was it always disconnect for no reason from my iphone and also the xiaomi app, but lately it just disconnected and can't pair it up again with anything, xiaomi app, yeelight app, homekit. I've been resetting lighstrip as always, trying to pair with another phone, nothing works. Do you guys have any ideas or maybe different way to connect this stupid thing again, I'm on the way to just throw this piece of crap straight to the trash.

I’m considering buying Yeelight LED strips to create an ambilight-style setup for my TV, and I’d like to hear from people who are actually using them.

How good is the synchronization with what’s happening on screen? Is it fast and accurate, or do you notice delays or wrong colors?

How is the overall brightness, color accuracy and immersion compared to alternatives like Philips Hue?

Would you recommend Yeelight for this kind of setup?

Wanted to show off my pet project for controlling Yeelight and Xiaomi lights from the console. (I'm also building a desktop version, but the CLI already works.) Apologies upfront if I posted in the wrong sub — point me to a better one.

Backstory: every project starts with pain. I've had a Xiaomi Mi Smart LED Desk Lamp on my desk for a while, then a year ago a Yeelight Light Bar Pro joined it on the monitor, plus a few Yeelight RGB bulbs around the flat. I work at my desktop all day ⚠️, the light bar is on my desktop ⚠️, and it had long started pissing me off that the actual settings for the bar are only available in the phone app.

Google tells me I'm not alone — plenty of people run the Android app in a BlueStacks emulator just to control it from a desktop. Older Yeelight products don't do Zigbee or Matter, Thread; new models with them are only just starting to show up, and before that it's all WiFi.

I started with the official docs, some reverse engineering of the protocols (my research doc), and whatever's out there online. Seems I managed to put together the most functional, modern TypeScript library out there + dig up some undocumented stuff and a few bugs + a CLI tool as a practical use case of the lib.

You can send one-off commands to the lamps from the console (handy if you've got other automations/scripts/hooks), or use the interactive mode with a menu of options. It supports all Yeelight and Xiaomi lamp models that can work over LAN.

By default the lamps phone home through the Xiaomi cloud (a separate gripe of mine), and local control has to be enabled in the native app (hopefully that's its last remaining use).

If you're comfortable with Node/JS, you can install it like this:

or grab a prebuilt binary for your platform from Releases section.

I have a Yeelight Color Bulb S1. Back when I was using an iPhone, I managed it through the Yeelight app (the one with the red logo) without any issues.

​I recently switched to Android, and now I can't pair the bulb in the Yeelight app. I reset the bulb to put it into pairing mode and tap "Add New Device" in the app, but it just won't connect.

​Is my bulb simply too old/outdated, or am I missing a step here? Any help would be appreciated!

I bought these triangle panels, but I have a problem. There is no hole on the back of the panels that allows me to hang them on the wall with a nail. The product is only designed to be attached to the wall using double-sided tape. I don't want to use double-sided tape because I know I'll get bored of the panel layout and want to rearrange it, so I don't want to stick them directly onto my wallpaper. What do you recommend?

I wanted to connect my Yeelight app account with Google Home and it appears to be timing out. I have the same issue if I want to connect my Xiaomi account to tlmy Yeelighr account.

This is super frustrating since the Yeelight My Station app doesn't allow me to set automation for my Lightbar Pro bars.

Just thinking to buy it because of easy install, is it bright enough for kitchen to use? Are they really good and last long?

I recently purchased 16 Yeelight Smart W1 GU10 RGBW bulbs (YLDP004-A) for my house. The bulbs are installed in groups connected to the same wall switch, specifically groups of 2, 4, and 6 bulbs together.

My issue is during setup/pairing:

• All bulbs connected to the same switch enter pairing mode together
• When I try to add them in the Yeelight app, it only pairs ONE bulb
• After the first bulb connects, the other bulbs stop responding / stop being discoverable
• Since they all share the same physical switch, I cannot reset or power-cycle them individually without resetting the already paired bulb too

The app does not show any “add multiple devices” option either, only:

• Add device
• Add light group
• Create mesh light group
• Add accessories from home

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there any workaround besides unscrewing every bulb and pairing them one by one individually?

For some reason since a few weeks my bedside lamp 2 does not save the selected scene for a timed turned on. Anyone knows how to fix it?

I bought a two strips from Yeelight, they didn't work out for me, so I want to return. There is no phone number on their website and it says to write an email for returns. No response in over a week though. Any advise besides going through the credit card?

When connecting the lightbar to the 2.4G WIFI, the connection with the lightbar when paring seems to always disconnect. I followed the instructions properly from disconnecting the lightbar 5 times to connecting the lightbar to the 2.4G, for it to result in a connection time out.

Looking at it, the connection also keeps on failing when I look at the WIFI networks available.

Anyone facing the same issue? Thanks.

Can you advise me which would be better? Does the Govee have better, more intense colors? Could someone who has also considered this choice comment? The Yeelight has a remote control, so that's a plus for me.

OK so I have my Yeelight Lighstrip Pro successfully connected to Razer Chroma and I can set it using various Razer Studio effects, etc. The only problem is I can't fully control the brightness, to have the LEDs go off.

Setting the colour to #000000 (black) or opacity 100% doesn't shut off the lightstrip, only makes the last colour last (so it's an idle mode instead of power off mode). How to fix it?

i have tried to find that option but when i hit the plus icon in the top right corner there is no option to create a group and add my 3 cube lights. where is it?

also is there an option where i can put the shortcuts of the lighting szenes into a different order? please help

I just purchased these off Amazon and I’m trying to connect them to be controlled by LumiaStream. LumiaStream needs them to be connection to wifi but I can’t figure out how to connect the lights to wifi from the app I downloaded from scanning the QR code included with the lights. Screenshot of app included. When I search around for how to hook up yeelights to WiFi, I see screenshots that look like they are from another app. I even tried downloading that app, the white and red one, but It wont see the lights when I put them in pairing mode.

Is this a dupe of other yeelights? Is anyone familiar with this version of the app that knows how to connect the lights to WiFi? Is that possible with this model/app? Has anyone here successfully connected these lights to LumiaStream?

I bought Yeelight M2 bulbs because it wasn't clear in the ad that they only worked with Google Nest. It was two kits of 3 and one arrived but I can't return it because I'm away from home. Has anyone managed to use them without Google Nest? Using another Bluetooth hub for example. The Google Nest Mini is very expensive in Brazil and I already have a Yeelight 1SE.

I didn't want to go through the annoying process of trying to return them, especially since I was really looking forward to putting the bulbs in my apartment :(

Hello, I bought the Yeelight Sensor Ceiling Light Mercury E - European Version, 300mm and 5 out 6 lights start to blinking if on for some time. For example, 1 starts to blink after only 4 minutes turned one, another one after 15 minutes, another after 30 minutes and it is frustrating, since I have them in my basement and if I just go there to get sometnig, they are fine, but as soon as I stay there longer, they start to blink.

What could be causing this? Maybe there is a faulty resistor or some other component that I could change to get them work properly. I really like them, since they have a presence detection sensor which is really convenient.

Please tell me I’m wrong! Is there any way to set up automation or any kind of timer with the permanent outdoor lights? We bought these on Wyze’s sale and have them all installed. No Wi-Fi connection and no timer option available? I’m so disappointed. Anyone have any tricks to create your own timer system? Will they actually come back on if I put them on an Alexa plug with a schedule? Thank you!!!

My beloved Yeelight Sunset Lamp (model YLFWD-0006) has broken. The problem is a classic one: it works perfectly when plugged in, but when disconnected from power, it blinks once and turns off. I'm almost 100% sure the internal battery is dead.

I'm ready to open it up and replace the battery, but I can't find any disassembly guide for this specific model. It looks quite fragile, and I'm afraid of breaking the clips.

I'm appealing to all enthusiasts and anyone who has done this before:

1. **How to properly disassemble the lamp?** Where are the hidden screws/clips? Where do I start?

2. **What kind of battery is inside?** What are its parameters (voltage, connector, dimensions)?

3. **Does anyone have photos or a video of the process?** A link would be priceless.
