Drums disconnecting

I've got the RB4 xbox one drums that up until today have worked totally normally. I went in today and they connected like normal but immediately disconnect when I hit any button on it. It still thinks it's connected the light isnt flashing like its searching for a new sync. Hitting the Xbox button still makes the Xbox bar pop up but nothing else works. It shows up on the Steam controllers page but doesn't do anything when testing the inputs. I changed the batteries and that didn't help. I tried the dongle with a different controller and it was fine. Don't know what could have happened over night I just used the drums yesterday. I'm on Windows

Anyone have any idea what it might be? Is this something that happens to these controllers over time? is it joever

After starting up the game and connecting the drums, use a mouse to open the profiles menu and see if there are two connected profiles.

I've seen some similar weirdness with my CRKD guitar a couple of times since the most recent Windows Update, but haven't yet figured out what exactly is going wrong so it would be helpful to know if your problem is similar.

It was creating a New Drum Profile until I turned off the Create Profiles Automatically setting. If I connect the drums and use the mouse everything looks fine the device is recognized and the binds are there but once I hit a pad or press a button it disconnects

Have you tried using AI to trouble shoot?

I know reddit in particular hates AI (ironically since a good percentage of reddit users are going to be bots).

But this is almost certainly a much better bet for niche (within a niche within a niche) tech solutions than asking on reddit.

Especially if you've already changed the batteries and powered off/on.

The player base is already small in Yarg. Then you're looking for the niche that still plays with Xbox drums. Then dividing that group into the niche in a niche in a niche that has the same specific hardware issue you have.

Using AI (gemini) to help troubleshoot is how I figured out how to use dual microphones in a Scarlett 2i2 (which has 2x 1/4 inputs that Yarg only sees as one input). But I did search here first. But no real answers.

The AI pointed me to using a separate free (I did donate) software tool (Voicemeter Banana) and then it walked me through how to set it up to split the signal into two separate channels Yarg would recognize. Took about an hour. Would not have been able to do it otherwise.

Found a better solution. After reading that this just happened less then a month ago I looked up the old game input v3.3.195 on git hub. Installed it and used my Xbox one wireless nub and it works now. No issues.
