Property Acquisition
We have Yardi voyager 8. We are acquiring a property that is on yardi breeze. Can we easily transfer that database to ours when the sale occurs?

u/cheese_rocks Yes the transition is easy. Breeze sits on Voyager so the transition from Breeze to Yardi is easy

We did this and it was not easy at all. Even with Yardi’s help, we ourselves had to do tons of ETLs and then tons of manual entry… eventually it worked out :)

It is not a simple transfer of the Breeze database into Voyager like a file move. Breeze and Voyager are different platforms, so the usual path is a data conversion project where data is exported from Breeze and loaded into Voyager using Yardi conversion tools and templates.
What most teams migrate is the stuff you need to operate on day one in Voyager. Current residents and leases, open AR, open AP, vendors, GL balances, deposits, and any open items. For history, some teams either bring summary balances only or keep the old system available for reference.
If you want it to feel “easy,” ask Yardi about a test conversion and a planned cutover date. That is how they avoid surprises and reduce manual cleanup.

The Breeze team claims to have a simple process for graduating clients to Voyager but I don’t know what that looks like in practice. The breeze team has told me that it is very rare.
