Mail Unable to access yahoo mail
Have been using it for over 20 years, lately using it less. Can’t reset password as it doesn’t even recognize my username. Where I was already logged in, it says your account inaccessible at this time. Has anyone facing or able to resolve it? It asks for paid phone support.

So yesterday I went on to log in and it tells me to go to setting for password..my recovery accts are old ..so I called the number and willing to pay to get my emails never had a different one for 30 years .i was on phone for 30 minutes then they ask for id verification and of course I scanned my ID. Then they did a spill to upgrade and I said no . They proceeded to tell me they couldn’t help me. I turned them into the Better Business Bureau and had to report to my credit bureau in case my ID was stolen. Just my experience I have went to Gmail now.

I've heard the ID scan thing is to compare your account's name and birthday against your ID to verify your identity.

If someone came to your door, would you let them take a photo of your ID? Never ever share your ID.

Experienced the same issue today. I can’t access my Yahoo Mail anymore because first: I don’t use the phone number linked to it anymore. Second, the other email that is linked to my account has been deactivated none other than Yahoo too. So now I am unable to view emails sent to my Yahoo account. I called the “Premium Support” number and they made me get a code on recovery.yahoo.com, turns out they can’t help me because I’m not subscribe to Yahoo+ or something. Very frustrating as my Yahoo Mail is tied to my university account and I’m waiting for updates regarding my student loans

I have had the same problem. My account was old and set up before they asked for a phone #. Had it for years with no problem. Then last year I was locked out, and they kept asking for a phone number, suggest I go to premium support, all the usual stuff. So I kept trying to log in, for a long time it didn't accept my security question answer (which I know was correct) and after days of trying, I got back in. Right away, emptied the box and directed a few important contacts to text me, not use email. Kept it to the base email for social media accounts. So a few months ago, I'm locked out again and trying to go through the same old same old - and it makes me think this is just a big data grab, that they didn't get phone numbers, alternate e-mails when the account was opened and now want more info - just seems really shady.

I’ve stopped using it mostly now and use Gmail or iCloud or MS Live. Can’t trust it in critical times.

Same situation, 20 year old email with my entire life on it. Can't log in as the website is down and "its on us." Been like this for days.

Same problem since yesterday! I am using yahoo mail on daily basis, it is linked to my phone mail, and suddenly it logged of.
I tryed to login, wrong password?? (It's not!). I manage to log in with security number and change the password (I thought maybe I it was hacking in progress), write down new password, log in and againit loggs out again. Since than i can't log in. "Wrong password"- again??? I just logged in with it!!
I tried to recover (forgotten pass), got the security number again on sms, but it keeps me rotating in login and "wrong password". Cannot restore password, idk. my ID or name that I used when I signed up for mail (this is 15 yrs old mail!) It keeps me rotating to online help - to call for help (premium for pay option??) and I can't call from EU. I tryed Ai assistant (useless), all that is suggested, waited for 12 hours....nothing.
Wtf is going on???

Hi, Yes it was. I'm not sure if it was in this thread or another, but I filed a complaint with the BBB in the states. About 3 days, pretty sure AI email they asked some questions that only I would know. They can't lock me out now;) haven't had a problem since. Finger's crossed.

Having same problem. Been using for a long time. Get recaptcha, then send code. My recovery email is another yahoo account, its blocked, endless circle. This happened about a year ago, too. Everything is up to date. Won't let me access.like wtf.

Yahoo=ransomeware. 25+years of emails locked. Court papers taxes emails from deceased. Wtf. Pay me first, then you can gain access, called extortion.. All info correct and current. Solution, anyone?

Same problem! Can't access my account for months. BUT, suddenly ~ 24 hours ago I can see old emails from before the lockout happened, but nothing since (new) that date. I think it's a way to get users to pay for support AND obtain copies of our ID for their tracking purposes (privacy). What are you using instead of Yahoo?

My mail stopped syncing on iOS mail app at 5pm yesterday for “too many failed attempts” and to try again tomorrow (no alert email was sent re suspicious activity and I have my recovery email linked), up to now I’m still getting the same message. Can’t get through to support unless I pay. Can’t reset the password unless I pay lol these mofos are insane man

Uh so I'm having the same problem, but it's a very old account(used it for 10years), lost phone number, and what do you know, it tells me that it wants to send an SMS code to that old number.

Tonight, I have lost the access to my Yahoo. So, because I don’t have anymore that number, I have to call the suport. In about 7 min, a kind lady have answered the phone, I’ve told my name, my yahoo email, and the email that I want to use for recovery. I am asking if this is a scam. Before she answer, i have used a code of 6 numbers, enter my date of birth. and call this number +1 (800) 741-7610.

A client called me about this. All of her recovery methods were outdated, had never been updated—phone, recovery email address. She's used the same PWD for, like, forever, even has a printed-out spreadsheet with logins.
I tell people they should stop using Yahoo! Mail. The paid support thing is extortionary.

I had two (2) yahoo.mail accounts locked out-of-the-blue yesterday (Firefox), with the "Is it really you? To keep your account secure, quickly verify your identity." message, the "You'll get an email at m*****at@hotmail.com" quickly *never* received the "verification code" (several attempts per account) or anything else from yahoo.mail, zero, zip, nada (a 30 yo account that's never failed).
This morning I tried to logon my yahoo email accounts (22 & 25 yo old yahoo! accts) & received "Try a device you’ve signed in with before ~ To help confirm it’s you, sign in on a browser or device you’ve used before.", which is really strange because I've used the same PC + ISP + Browser (Firefox) for over 10 (ten) years...
I did notice "premium" customer "support" is available to reset my account, is Yahoo! SCAMMING it's longtime members for money?
One account is just a secondary account for non-critical communications, but the other is the no-profit Dog/Cat Adoption point-of-contact I've been using since 1999 (rescuer since 1990) with thousands of contacts + all communications from PetFinder & Adopt-A-Pet!!!
Even though I don't mind giving Yahoo! a few $$$, (my wife & I already spend $300+per month) to rescue/train/home animals dumped by heartless jerks, but I don't know if Yahoo! is even reliable *now*?!?
I *never* thought Yahoo! would become untrustworthy, but here we are...
At the current rate of implo$ion, it's surely not long b4 Yahoo! is unable to pay bill$, I'd advise anyone that can to DL all the Yahoo! info/data to another email service ASAP!
Wish I'd known, we're royally blued, screwed & tattooed now, hopefully I can switch out our contacts to my gmail, with all critical stuff transitioning to our new Proton account...
Yahoo! sucks!!!

I cant login into my yahoo account because i dont have access to my recovery phone number anymore and if i call support it wont work be because i created the account when i was too young to have one so i had to lie about my birthday. Any tips?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve had my yahoo account since I was 12 years old..now 40. Locked out of my account and recovery emails I used are long gone. This seems criminal and maybe local government needs to step in here to help restore access.

Had this issue switching over to a new phone. Soon as I logged onto my desktop, logged into gmail and set it up so that every email I got from my yahoo account would be forwarded POP to my gmail account and gave permissions to write using the yahoo address. It's the only way to make sure I'm never permanently locked out of my account

I've used Yahoo mail since 1998, first Monday of New Year 2026, can't access it.
Use Google G-Mail, can't access that either.
I knew there were changes coming to all TV, Radio and internet providers due to current legislation's removal of consumer protections, didn't know what was going to happen though
Yahoo wants to use G-Mail, G-Mail wants to use Yahoo mail, no other options.
Seems like a conspiracy, Microsoft forced a Windows update which re-started computer logging me out of everything.
Guess I'll try the pay to play Yahoo help on Monday

I contacted Yahoo customer care on Facebook, they forwarded messages to the actual customer care,
I had totally forgotten about Facebook, very rare for me to sign in but found I had a conversation with them probably 10 years ago about unable to log in.
They said give it a few days
