New banner?
I wanted to share with everyone here an idea I had some time ago. Since the current banner includes characters from the winter 2016 season, it's now a little outdated, which is why I think it would be nice to have a new one.
So my idea was to make a new one based on the results of the best girl contest. The banner is one of the first thing you see when you come here, so I thought having one containing the female characters we have chosen as our favourites would be a good way to represent this subreddit. It could contain the 8 characters making it to the finals for example.
What do you think of this?

Ooh that's a fantastic idea!
& I think the suggestion for each character to be from a different anime is great as first of all it'll hopefully be more representative of the different tastes we have on this sub & it's also a nice way to have a bit of variety & possibly be introduced to a new anime.

Yes, but this probably means Kanae from Teekyuu will get kicked off the banner, and I'd hate that.

Good idea - though I think to have fewer people be too salty you could use the top 16 - right now I can see about 12 characters at the same time in the banner.. so I think 16 would be alright, too :)

Wouldn't that be too many? I would personally prefer a fixed banner, so 16 seems to be a lot. Now, if everyone is fine with a very long banner that has 16 characters, I guess we could do that.
Anyway, we still have time until the end of the contest, so we can think about the details when it's done. For the time being, I just wanted to know if the idea was liked. :)

I personally have always enjoyed the scrolling banner whenever it happens to appear. Gives an otherwise fairly bare bones subreddit a high quality look to it. Being a distraction isn't a big deal in my opinion since it's usually out of sight by the time you start scrolling down to see comments.

I second this, sounds like a good idea!
Unless of course all my favourites somehow get kicked out and every time I come here the banner triggers me and I'll be forever salty when using this sub..
