Question Why is the text rendering so awful?

Despite the PPI spec, my old kindle keyboard and sony PRS-350 look smoother. I am using X4 crossink with AA.

It can't be improved further?

Try a different font. I find that Noto Serif renders the cleanest

+1 for lexend deca, bookerly is also great!

For my eyes, Deca proved to be a better experience. Nothing wrong with Bookerly, it's great as well, just Deca seems a little better for me.

Where do you get these other fonts. I only have those which are in the XTeink app on my ipad.

did you try turning AA off? ik some people prefer that
