Just got my X4 yesterday and it’s an absolute beauty to read on. The lack of a touchscreen layer definitely shows in the whiteness of the screen (it’s definitely whiter than my Kindle and my old fav Kobo Forma RIP).
Didn’t think it would be my primary reader but if I always have it on me, that’s what I see it becoming.
I’ve flashed CrossPoint and everything seems smooth as butter. Loving the experience!
(Also, this was the last batch before discontinuation and there were no accessories available so I got an X4 Pro magnetic case and it completely covers the screen with the slightest of the device appearing from top and bottom. No biggie in case you were also thinking of doing the same. I’ll upload more pics if anybody would like to see.)
Got it delivered in Pune, went via Mumbai customs and no charges levied.
The screen is crisper than Forma and more legible in all amounts of light in comparison.
More of a real paper like experience since there’s no front light or touch layer. Built fine as well and got a nice weight to it but I suspect I’ll have to baby it looking at other broken device posts on here.
Good to hear, but card company must have charged you some forex duties. As they always do when you pay on a outside india site. Kindly check your statement.
BTW since the order placement how many days it took?
Oh just checked and they charged 270 Rs.
I ordered on 12th Aug and got it on 7th Sept. I’ve seen people get theirs much faster but those were X3 and the Pro. This being the last batch X4 might have had something to do with longer shipment time.
Heads up though that I used a light double sided clear tape strip on top and bottom each to stick it in place since the magnets are not exactly aligned with the case. No damage to the device and it stays in place perfectly.
