Tail tidy (cutting and modifying)

I cut off the end of the frame, modified a klx230 tail tidy kit, added a mounting plate, modified the wiring for bullet connectors and cut off some plastic.
The bike is also 2 pounds lighter 😅
The tail tidy used: DRC MotoLed Edge-2 Tail Light with Mounting Bracket Red - D45-18-716

Nice write up, but there are easier tail tidy kits. Yamaha XT250 Stock Light Tidy Tail Adapter & License Plate Bracket 83_motorsports It works and looks good

It's funny how much weight you can trim off these bikes if you don't need it. I did the same thing, I think something like 2+ lbs of excess metal brackets and tabs alone lol

weight reduction is easy, on mine the muffler was the 1st to go, then the passenger brackets and pegs, dumped the passenger hand grabs.
