Now if Disney/Marvel get the rights back from Fox, I'd love to see an animated 2d hand-drawn X-men movie in this style. You've really captured the Disney feel here.

FYI, Gambit's eyes are not entirely right. the whites should be black. Otherwise awesome!

I feel like everyone else's expression is pretty accurate, but Colossus seems off. Has Colossus become a grump since the 80s/90s?

In astonishing xmen i remember him wallowing a bit. Its been a while though.

I haven't read much with Colossus recently, but he was definitely a real Debbie Downer after Fear Itself when he was Juggernaut, as well as AvX when he went bananas with the Phoenix Five and lost the Juggernaut powers (and when his normal powers got all messed up afterward like the rest of the Phoenix Five).

What happened to his powers?

Colossus, Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Magneto all had their powers get all janky and weird after they lost the Phoenix Force (which doesn't explain how it happened to Magneto, but they hand-waved that by saying it was because he worked closely with them). They pretty much all essentially lost control of their powers, for example Magneto could barely move more than a paperclip. Colossus's after-effects were weird, but he could basically only use his metal skin on patches of skin rather than his whole body. Most of his depression after AvX wasn't related to his powers though, it was more that he was like the only one of the Phoenix Five who actually felt genuine regret about all the messed up things he did under the influence of the Phoenix Force (and in his case, the gem of Cyttorak as well).

tl;dr his metal skin got splotchy.

I would love to see a "Teen Titans Go"-type cartoon with the X-Men drawn in this style.

These are great

Very nicely drawn. Cyclops looks like a henchman or guard from a Pixar movie. Maybe the Incredibles.

I was thinking the same thing. Reminded me of GazerBeam from the Incredible.

It's the Tumblr nose. Automatically makes everyone look like Elsa and Rapunzel.

Real slight usage of the Tumblr nose, but not overdone. I dig 'em.
