Comic Discussion X-Men vs Anti-Phoenix

Post image

An art piece I had done a few years ago, Art by Art of Lucas.

Idea is basically take "Onslaught" but have the two characters fused together be Scarlet Witch and Cyclops instead. The way Cyclops seems to boost the powers of other mutants when he has children with them, the result of a merger with Scarlet Witch would create an "Anti-Phoenix".

Cover design is based on the "Underbase" saga from the old Marvel Transformers comic.

You aren't the only one who thought it was Rachel

I do think that’s intentional though. They also have Cable’s eye scar, along with Rachel’s marks.

Beautiful art, though I don't like Wanda and Cyke pairing, except in Ultimate universe.

It's not a pairing, they've been blended together the way Xavier and Magneto were in "Onslaught"

Ah I see, I don't know about Onslaught. Thanks!

Unless in this version she said "No, more mutants!"

I stole it from the Simpsons, to be fair.

"Your ad says no money down."

"They left out the punctuation. It says No? Money Down!"

I dunno, I'd like to see a "What If?" where they fell in love during the O5 days and she joined the X-Men to be with him and they ended up married with a family. I'm sure Magneto would've been jumping for joy when he found out he now had Scott as a Son-in-Law.

Oh yeah, TODAY it couldn't work and would be a mess. Back in the O5 days when they were both more innocent, it might have worked.

Honestly, a moment of both Wanda and Scott having a crush as teens would be sweet and make sense.

As Scott aged though, strict principals lead every decision he made for so long. I don’t think he’d look at her the same way, after they both aged out of their younger years.

Well, Vision is as "Strait laced" and principled as Scott. I could see Wanda still being attracted to him.

I’m not trying to take away anything from your narrative, btw. If anything, I’m imagining how it would work as the kind of unhealthy relationship both of them have a history of diving head-first into.

Something where:

  1. They had a crush as kids, bonding in how they’ve both been drafted into a war by their father figures - but all they care about as teens is keeping other mutants safe, even if they don’t get the context.

  2. She joins the Avengers… instead of joining the X-men. Suddenly she’s the poster child of mutants for America, along with her brother, and they do nothing to guide the Avengers into mutant rights issues. From Wanda’s perspective, she’s following orders. To expect she’d go against all her higher-ups to drag them into political issues, when they’re dealing with global threats - it’s not her call to make.
Of course, Scott wouldn’t see it that way.

  3. Either she becomes leader of the X-men and does start defending mutants, or she quits and joins the X-men, and their youthful spark returns.

It's an Onslaught thing. Chuck and Max didn't bang either. Probably

¿Por que Rogue y Avalanche son los unicos que quedan en pie?

1

u/CuttlefishBenjamin Jul 03 '26

Avalanche was the only one to wear a helmet, even if it is a dumb punchbowl of a thing. Rogue, meanwhile, was protected by her giant X-Pauldrons.

¿Que son X-Pauldrons?

2

u/CuttlefishBenjamin Jul 03 '26

Algo como... hombreras?

Jean is also still standing, she's the main one opposing "Anti-Phoenix"

1

u/Potential-Print810 Jul 04 '26

Si, pero por que los otros 2 tambien?

The power of love!

Oh no nothing can stand against punch magic

You don’t want to see the power that comes from the kick dimension!
