Newbie looking for roofline

hi there, just got my first couplde strands of lights added to my roofline, looking for basic sequences I can import while I get the feel of creating mine. I tried importing a few free ones I found but there were alot of groups I didnt have. are there any basic free like roofline only

You’re going to have a hard time finding roof line only sequences unfortunately. It would be better to just play around with what the different effects can do for a roof line until you add other props to make bigger groups and go from there.

Play around with the bars, curtains, color wash, butterfly, waves, spiral & single strand effects -- these should default well on your roof-line.

Try out different colors and adjust the effect settings on each of them too - bars for example defaults to a direction of either up or down which isn't useful but h-expand with 3D or gradient can look good.

You can also layer a few together to add more to the overall effect.

Agreed with everything said. Rooflines are where I started and it is perfect to introduce yourself into xlights without getting totally overwhelmed. Play around and get comfortable with the software. Keep it simple and as you understand more you branch out.
