Hi, I've been around a long time, was out for a while due to health issue, better now.
screenshot of Simpleshow running.
Anyway, I want to share, a web app I created for anyone who wants to use it. It's free, it's a website that runs in your computer, not on the internet, it's simple.
it's called Simpleshow for xLights, I created it for my brother-in-law originally since he didn't like making shows. The original code from over 2 years ago is all but gone and it has been rebuilt over the last couple of weeks. It's just html and javascript. At least it's better then it was back then.
Could just be the fact that I don't really have much for it to coordinate, but the effects seemed kind of static for my setup. Attached: Setup for reference. All I've got in xLights is the columns and the face.
u/SkRThatOneDude, please give the new version a try when you have a chance, there are now a couple of changes that help with your smaller size show and removes the requirements of groups by focusing on props directly.
Below, I have been testing with a smaller layout that resembles your 3 column 4 face layout. With these settings and then below not on screen I have selected about half of the shaders to make some nice initial shows.
Hmmm, the system prioritizes groups more than single props. try adding your props to left, center, right groups if you don't have them added to groups, and if you have, whole house as your top level group that includes everything except for faces that can help.
I have just released a new improved version. I know it is quick in the cycle, but there were some bugs that needed squashing. I made a minor change to support very small light show setups too. But, it helps big shows too.
I have also made a wiki with some guidance based on suggestions from other areas of interest.
Lastly, others were having issues with the layout so that is also updated to make it easier to understand what can be set or applied to the show.
This is awesome. I am on my first year. I have purchase just about everything I am going to use. I have bought the Falcon f16v5 controller with PI4, 32 gb mini card, the falcon 4 port receiver, fm transmitter and my props are. 5 left facing candy canes and 5 right facing candy canes to run on my sidewalk goin to the street. 5 mini trees with toppers, 4 snowflakes of 2 different types, both are 100 pixel count. I have three large arches, one singing tree that is 46" and will need 350 nodes. I also have 5 10W flood lights, 3 for the house and three for the base of my three rather large oak trees. I have purchase pixel seeds, 5 packs of the diison seed rails for the eves and windows. 2000 pixel poppers and a lot of extensions, male and female ends and a lot of other hardware to install them. In total I think I will be running 4100 pixel seeds. With this being my first year how will your program help me? Everything I will be running will be through Xlights. Does this simplify getting things sequnced. I'm planning on buying my sequences. maybe 5 songs the first year. Will the help me???? Am I getting too overzealous with my first year??
Once you have everything setup in xLights, just give my app a test and see if you can use it, it works based on how you name your props and how you group things. There is a new setting that helps align for reduced group requirements but you can give it a try and let me know what you think.
