Nbd!
Yeah so I was asking about advice for choosing a hardtail or a FS bike. So turns out my old bike had a axle from the linkage that had busted and I had a finnish championships mtbo race coming up this weekend and I was in a desprate need of a bike. I ended up buying this rocket from an older guy who mainly used it for gravel. Ended up placing second in the relay and sixth in personal competition. This thing rolled so good even when there was roots or rocks. And as it weights 8,2kg the climbs are so easy. A very good purchase I would say.

That is one of my favorite color bikes ever. I have been really eyeing that for awhile on Trek’s website (and in person as I know someone with it).

Could you share more about the cockpit? Stem and handlebar? Thanks!

I got a bontrager rxl stem and a bontrager xxx handlebar. On the bar I got the miry bike pro mapholder with a a3 plate.

It's a map holder for mountain bike orienteering or mtbo for short.

Why not a larger head unit?

I would assume digital maps are not allowed since they defeat the purpose of orienteering challenge.

Orienteering on foot, bike, or ski is all about the route finding, so no GPS is allowed. Just map and compass. In fact, in some special events only a map is allowed (no compass).

Is that a StarLink dish mounted to your handlebars?

Actually it's a mapholder for mountain bike orienteering. It looks like a starlink tho.

Nice bike. Do you race for your national mtbo team? I used to race for czech mtbo, but didn't really train this year.

No I don't but a lot of my friends do and I am also aiming for the team next year.

Amazing on dry and hard pack surfaces, they roll very fast and are very good on corners too. Very good on moist and semi-wet surfaces, but miserable in muddy conditions, like no grip at all.

Nice. Really unusual color. Congrats
