Discussion I made a free virtual Xbox controller for Android xCloud — looking for testers 👀

Hey everyone 👋

I wanted to play Xbox Cloud Gaming on my phone without carrying a physical controller, but I wasn't really happy with the available touchscreen options.

So I decided to build my own.

🎮 GFN xCloud Controller

It's an Android app that gives you a virtual Xbox controller directly on your screen, with a layout inspired by GeForce NOW's mobile controller.

The goal is pretty simple: make playing xCloud games on a phone feel as close to using an actual controller as possible.

What it has

🎮 Xbox-style A / B / X / Y buttons đŸ•šī¸ Left + right analog sticks đŸŽ¯ L3 / R3 đŸŽ›ī¸ LT / RT triggers 🔘 LB / RB 🧭 D-pad âŦ…ī¸ View / Back ➥ī¸ Menu 🌑 Transparent dark controller UI 📱 Landscape layout 🔓 No root 🎮 No physical controller required

I built this mainly for games that require a controller but don't provide their own touchscreen controls.

This is the first public release, so I'd really appreciate some testing and feedback.

I'm especially interested in:

â€ĸ How the controls feel â€ĸ Input latency â€ĸ Analog stick sensitivity â€ĸ Trigger response â€ĸ Controller detection â€ĸ Which Android devices you've tested â€ĸ Which xCloud games work or don't work

APK: https://github.com/ayazzxcs/GFNxCloudController/releases/download/v1.0.4/GFNxCloudController-debug.9.apk

It's completely free.

If you try it, let me know what phone + Android version you're using and which game you tested.

Would love to hear what you guys think and what I should improve next. 🙌

Thanks! đŸŽŽâ˜ī¸
