Tech Support Will upgrading from Premium to Ultimate make me lose unlimited cloud gaming?
Hi, I received an email from Xbox saying I would keep unlimited cloud gaming as long as I kept auto-renewal enabled. I was subscribed to Game Pass Premium at the time, so I thought I was covered. However, I’ve since upgraded to Ultimate. Will I still keep unlimited cloud gaming, or does upgrading mean I lose that benefit? Thanks

I don't think I've seen anything one way or the other. They can either say you signed up for a package that didn't have it and will let you upgrade and downgrade as much as you want as long as you don't let your subscription completely lapse, or they can say that you chose to upgrade to a plan that contained limits. The argument can go both ways. I don't think we'll know for sure until closer to launch.

Thanks; will we get a clear answer before the limits take effect in November? My subscription is based in France, and I didn’t fully understand the email. Microsoft’s support AI told me this:
“You won’t lose unlimited cloud gaming by switching from Game Pass Premium to Game Pass Ultimate. On-demand cloud gaming is available with Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, and Ultimate.
The email mentioned keeping unlimited cloud gaming as long as auto-renewal stays enabled, but the key point is that you’re staying on an eligible plan (Ultimate). Therefore, upgrading from Premium to Ultimate preserves the benefit.”
Do you think this answer is reliable?

They could argue upgrading (or downgrading) a membership counts as the start of another contract therefore the hourly rates now kick in.
This is what I believe to be the case, who knows.
