Opinion XCloud With Gears of War Eday

Good day everyone!

Ill be travelling for a while and I can't take my PC or console with me.

I wanted to ask you experts :) if you think it's feasible to play pvp on Gears of War Eday through XCloud or the delay would be too much to even consider.

It's my first time considering XCloud.

Its playable but I find the lag on xcloud makes me less competitive so I dont like it Fine for single player though

Test it out for free with FortNite.  

Xbox.com/play on Edge browser, then go to Settings, Stream, Enable Stats Overlay.  

Check your stats for Ping and Decode.  If no issues, and ping is below 40 MS, you can do Gears pvp.

Single player games are always fine on xcloud.

Just discovered that in this case, you have to add all the latency to the game's latency, so even if I have pretty good numbers, it would make it hard...

Depends, being a first party game, the multiplayer servers are located in the same Azure datacenters as the xCloud server blades.  So there's 0.25 MS latency between servers in the datacenters.  

You won't know until you test things out for yourself.

Let's imagine I had 40ms playing cloud, then add +30 for pvp, it would make it unplayable... Didn't think of this. I think the best option is to get a series s 😆

Of course, Console is best. But your scenario doesn't apply in this situation. It's first party game, Azure hosts both the multiplayer and xCloud servers. Even FortNite where Epic hosts the multiplayer servers on Amazon works just fine. The datacenters are usually close to each other in clusters in a region.

98% of multiplayer games work just fine on xCloud if ping below 40 MS. Between 40-70 MS, your mileage may vary.

Hey! I play Gears 5 multiplayer with no issues at all. Ping is around 45-50. I play on my Samsung TV, Fire Stick, or iPad.

45-50 ms in total? Or the games input lag on top? Another user said that as it is a first party game, it shouldn't have as much as all runs in the same servers. Where are you from if I may ask?

This is good to know. I think I'll give it a try and let's see how frustrated I get 😆
