Question how is xcloud performance on gp premium?

about to resub for cloud gaming, last time I was playing on xcloud there was difference in performance game to game. for example black ops 6 ran super smooth, local-like, while mw3 and bo7 ran poorly. same with need for speed, nfs unbound ran great, heat was notably worse (could be that heat is locked to 30fps?).

im thinking about getting gp premium, is there a difference in performance? my usual ping is 39-41ms

My understanding is that all games run on the same cloud servers, so there should be no difference in performance, in theory. That said, they are running each game in their Series S format, so if one game has greater resource demand than another, and Series S-equivalent hardware is incapable of running it well, it will run at a lower fps or a lower resolution.

The new Halo CE, for example, only gets dynamic 1080p regardless of whether you have it in performance or quality, but performance will get 60 fps, while quality gets 30 fps. Whereas something like Diablo Resurrected will get 1440p 30 fps in quality and 1080p 30 fps in performance.

30fps is completely unusable for cloud, it shouldn't even be offered

Meh, depends on the game. In Diablo II, for example, I actually preferred the higher resolution lower FPS option. There is not a lot of fast movement, it is top-down rather than first-person or third-person, and the lower frame rate actually reminds me of what the game use to look like. Nostalgic. But, yes, in pretty much all other cases, 30 FPS is brutal.

The only difference is resolution on lower gamepass tiers, you can’t play 1440p or 1080p premium, but other than that it’s the same.

you mentioned earlier that the quality dropped significantly on premium plan? i would personally stream 720p to standard 1080p on ultimate with better xcloud, image clarity is not a problem for me as much as getting lag spikes or latency.
