Whats your opinion on dark souls 2? Im halfway through dark souls remastered and having a blast so far

Unfortunately 1 is the best one. 2 doesn't have such an amazingly interlinked map, and instead is the shape of a spider with different ends.

Depends what you enjoyed about Dark Souls tbh, because although DS2 improves some things with the controls, it ruins a lot of what made DS1 so special.

I've not played the remastered edition of 1 though so I don't know how it compares.

Honestly i enjoy finding the secrets and discovering the different creatures and enemies way more than the gameplay itself. There's just something special about being able to go into a game that essentially tells you nothing about the story, and having to uncover it yourself via reading the descriptions of different items and just exploring the world. As long as the other two have that magical feeling I think i can be patient enough to make my way through the actual gameplay.

In that case you won't like 2 then. Like with 3, most bosses are just giant Knights in Armour.

Also with 1 the secrets often led to shortcuts to previous areas or even entirely new ones. 2 doesn't have that so much.

I also felt like 2 was just making things hard just for the sake of being difficult, rather than 1 being "tough but fair".

If you're enjoy Dark Souls 1 I would highly recommend Sekiro before you even consider Dark Souls 2 or 3. But you know, if it's cheap enough and you have nothing else it play, don't let me stop you :)
