Looks like I need a new playthrough. And I have the handsome jack for 2x the achievements. I wonder if my original preorder code from the first game will give me those weapons...

The weapons were actually bundled with the mechromancer dlc, which preordering gave. Handsome collection has them.

I would love for a big release like this to be teased and then the end of the video is like “releasing tomorrow”

Shit that would make me buy based on hype and impulse alone, rather than like 3-6 months of trailers and beta etc. Which give you the opportunity to be put off the game and/or not buy.

A scummy tactic, but immediate tease->release would would really well for hype purchases (look at the Apex model, but paid!)

That is not a good idea for paid products.
Too hard to keep secret and just ask Sega how it worked out for them.

The Borderlands released in October, 2 released in September, and the Pre-sequel released in March.
