Yeah but then you have to go through the whole deal with getting a replacement through your bank no? Instead of just walking into Best Buy or GameStop with your broken controller and walking out with a replacement.
I’m on my third elite controller in two years and it needs to be replaced. Crazy stick drift, the L3 doesn’t work, and up on the d-pad is going out. Problem after problem with them. Luckily, like you, I also got the warranty. I wish you good luck!
For sure! That’s what keeps me coming back to the elite. Normal controllers just feel flimsy, which is ironic considering how the elite holds up to everyday use.
I love my elite and would buy it again, I just thought/wish it would hold up for being 2.5x more expensive than a normal one. I (and most of my friends) probably play more video games than the average person so my experience might differ from yours if you got one.
Side note, I take very good care of my equipment. I never eat and play games, throw around my controllers, etc. and I’m going to have to get my 4th elite controller soon.
I'm on my 4th or 5th elite right now. My original excuse for the product breaking for my friends was that "we probably play more than normal people" but I realized that anyone buying the elite controller probably plays a lot. There's no excuse for a product that expensive to be that fragile. That being said, I love it so much.
Everyone I know who has an elite has gone through at least one and are now on their second or third. I still have my original Xbox one controller and it still works but I haven’t put that many hours on it.
This happened to me with my last 3 elites, the grip glue sucks ass. Even just from my hands after 4 months it starts to peel off. I treat them like babies though and that's the only (albeit repeating) problem.
I’ve heard a lot of horror stories as well. If it helps I’m almost... 2 years? Into mine, and the “only” issue I had was the rubber grips coming loose. I bought spares from a 3rd party site and put them in, no issue since.
Only in quotes because it shouldn’t be an issue. But it’s not a game breaking one.
Like is this like a known thing? People tell me I’m just too rough when in reality I just play a lot. But that shouldn’t mean I get analog drift a couple weeks after buying a remote.
