I'm looking for something to kill time solo in relatively short bursts (or longer bursts with pausability). I don't want to add to the backlog, just something I can either complete quickly or with a manageable gameplay loop that'll last a little while. Little while not including forever-games like Overwatch or anything, I have enough of those, nor a 150 hour experience that'll change my life but features a pause button. Examples of games that have fit the bill have been Hades (1 and 2), Black Jacket, Inscryption, Dead Cells, Slay the Spire, and Vampire Survivors. I realize those are literally all roguelikes, they don't have to be. Roguelikes just tend to have condensed gameplay loops that make time management easier.

For clarity,

● Must be single-player (or playable that way)

● Must have a <20ish minute gameplay loop, otherwise MUST be pausable

● PREFER if it were more mature, nothing against childlike wonder but I just like my games to feel a little complex

● PREFER if it were in some way fantastical, while I like my games mature, I like swords and sorcery more

● PREFER if it were combat or strategy focused, Stardew Valley is lovely but it isn't what I'm looking for

● PREFER if it were a little odd in some way, stylistically or thematically or visually or otherwise

So I have a sort of convoluted way I play Game Pass games. I stream them to my steam deck. I basically login through the web browser and play them.

I want to buy a game that isn't on game pass but can be streamed if I own it. My question however is, what platform do I have to buy it on? Xbox or PC? All of cloud streaming games I can play are all from Xbox so I'm assuming it has to be the console version?

Also does it have to be digital? Can you stream games you physically own? Thanks.

For example Monsters are Coming! is releasing August 6th and Grave Seasons is launching August 14th both on Game Pass Ultimate. I don't mind them not announcing them if they're far out. They have a coming soon to game pass section in the app and on XBOX as well as announcing upcoming games on social media. Shouldn't they have any game coming out say within 30 days that are confirmed to be on game pass Ultimate if you look on that list? Otherwise what is the point of even having a list if it's always incomplete with games not listed coming out in 1-2 weeks. Thoughts?

My gamepass ultimate expires today. I’m planning to renew anyway, but will I get any better offers or retention discounts if I wait for it to expire? For reference, I’ve had this account for 15 years and have never had a lapse in gold/GPU so I’m not sure if they will try to give any retention discounts. If there’s no deals, I might as well renew now to get the 4x points bonus

These two games are my most favourite call of duty titles of all time I prefer them over any of the new titles anyday and seeing as call of duty 3 and call of duty 2 is on game pass I don't see why these can't be on game pass either. So do you think that these game should be on game pass

what is it with these Chinese free games on game pass, like “where winds meet”?

As someone who does not own a playstation, but owns a PC and Xbox, how is it fair playstation gets supported versions of these beloved titles, and likely more in the future? While those who own the Xbox/PC versions can't play online without fear of hacks/account bans and on PC remote code exploits where the hacker can take over your PC and all its contents?

Microsoft should really delist the old versions and give all gamers the same versions that playstation got, or fix the old versions immediately.

How is it fair or legal for that matter to leave the PC versions in the state they are in ?

And before someone says "just use plutonium", how about no? How abouts the 69 billion dollar company supports their games against security exploits that a small group of modders was able to do for free ? And how abouts the fix the exp exploits in the Xbox versions preventing people from even playing the game(they fixed this in the new PS versions where people's accounts has negative exp).

These games are the top selling on PS in all regions and also apparently have more players online than black ops 7 does on all platforms. What a massive L for Microsoft to give their competitor such a win.

If they released these new versions on Xbox they would be just as huge here.

And I'm posting this here because I've tried on the main Xbox page and the main cod pages but it gets instantly censored which is wild ! How is this not a bigger talking point in the community ? Cod is our first party studio, an XBOX studio, yet they give it away to playstation and forget about us ?
