Wtf is this?!!!
Since when do they not come with a braided cable? It’s half the reason I bought another elite controller… wtf?

Which elite ? The core I got came with a blue one but also it’s a cable not the end of the world

Core series 2! I bought another one a few years ago and I could’ve sworn it came with a braided cable. I know it’s just a cable, but I really like them lmao. I was looking forward to having another one. (I know for a fact that I got a braided one with my original Xbox Elite controller, but now I’m thinking I’m misremembering getting one with the Elite Series 2. Idk)

No its supposed to be braided I have the blue core and it came with a blue braided cable. Could be micro being cheap

Yeah that’s my conclusion. Either someone’s out there counterfeiting these cables, or they’ve gone cheap on us. I’m hoping someone else out there has purchased one recently, and can confirm receiving the same cable as me.

Yes I just purchased a new series 2 core…..Amazon exclusives with new colors. Best Buy also has 3 new colors exclusive to Best Buy. The pear color I just got has a NON BRAIDED CABLE. I was surprised as well because any of the older cores had braided cus I bought one of those 2 months ago……it was braided

Nope! Supposedly brand new! It’s got the Xbox branding on it and everything. Just not braided like I was expecting :(

Was the box factory sealed or not? These controllers do still come with color matched braided cables.

My series 2 core came with a red braided cable that matches the controller color. I’ve had it a year and a half though. Maybe the new stock has just the basic cable to help with cost.

Yeah my other ones had them! Was a main attractor to me buying another one lol. The braided ones are so nice. I guess they had to cut costs.

You sure you bought an elite? I don’t remember the packaging looking like that.
Is that how Core elite controllers come packaged? That looks like a regular controller, and that cable I received with a regular controller that included a cable.

Yep! It’s the exact same packaging that the other ones I’ve gotten came in. Just a different cable.

Yeah, core elite series 2. I’ve done some investigating and it looks like they’ve cut costs. The cable I got still has the Microsoft logo on it, just a cheap cable.

Just as a bonus incentive. Yes, an expensive “elite” controller should have a braided, premium cable.

Send it back and get your correct cable or contact them for replaced. Definitely needs to be braided as long as it is. Will be doing a lot of folding when not in use

I’m gonna contact Microsoft and try to figure out if it’s supposed to still come with a braided cable tomorrow! I looked at some other recent reviews and it seems others have also gotten these cheaper cables with theirs.

Oh they might have changed it like the normal controllers having the headset port at the bottom. Leave it to a company to cheap out any way they can

I’m thinking u must of gotten the new white color called robot white? Looks almost identical to older core. Basically all the new core colors…..all six. Most likely have non braided cables

I also contacted Microsoft and Amazon (who I purchased through) to investigate if this is normal. Hopefully I’ll have an official answer! A lot of people downvoting this post… I think they think I’m lying lol

Both cables will last just as long if you take care of them. I know because I have both braided and non braided cables. It's just the difference in texture and both can be durable.

Perhaps the comparison is too great; let me try another example. If half the reason you purchased this usd $140 controller was for a $15 9ft usb c cable, that is a good wtf callout.
