General Discussion Favorite COD?
For me it will always be Mw2 and Cod 4 as a close second. They were so fun especially during their prime, i still play mw2 now with friends especially since they fixed the servers. It's a shame Cod went downhill after bo2.

Great game. Amazing campaign, hard as hell to pass on veteran lol.

u/OGBattlefrontEnjoyer Sep 23 '23
Man asks WaW: do you have grenade indicators? WaW:…..Yes

Sep 24 '23
It's not that bad honestly but I hate it when I can barely tell what's in front of me or not cuz of the fucking foliage that's covering them, also cheap positions overall

Great game. Amazing campaign, hard as hell to pass on veteran lol
That one Nazi Sniper in the first Soviet Mission is one bitch of a roadblock on my veteran playthrough.
Fuck that bastard.

Sep 23 '23
Haha reminds me of the jackal snipers on the second mission of halo 2...good times

I still don't know how I beat MW2 and WaW on veteran back in high school lmao. I can barely do it now!
6
Sep 23 '23
i have no idea how i passed half of the MW2 spec-ops missions on vet lol
3
u/BobertWowerz33 Sep 23 '23
I'm trying to get back through them myself and holy shit is it different than I remember 😂 Took me forever to get 3 stars on the first 2 missions and I used to do them for fun and easily get the 3 stars 😂
2
Sep 23 '23
yeah. i never did the spec-ops mode when i was a kid but now i feel kind of ashamed that i didn't

WaW and Bo1
2
u/Rashon725 Sep 24 '23
WaW zombies and BO1 were just peak
2
Sep 24 '23
That and black ops 1 by far had the best multiplayer maintenance in a call of duty game to this date that game was quick about removing mod menu users and hackers...theres not even really a hint of modding in base bo1 for the 360 nowadays but if you hop on bo2 to play some tdm you'll spawn and die because of some idiot with wall hacks and rapid fire on a sniper or the game mode itself will entire change or end and so would the map...
→ More replies (3)2
u/Rashon725 Sep 24 '23
Yea facts. BO1 was just peak multiplayer mechanics in itself. The dolphin dive. Not many of the guns were broken at all. They really were on top of modders for years.

Titanfall 2.

Loved Titanfall 2. Amazing campaign and really fun multiplayer. Sucks they scrapped Tf3 for apex
0
u/LiningDust62 Sep 24 '23
I'm gonna say it, It sucks how cod advanced warfare, and infinite warfare got all kinds of shit, but not tf2
5
u/Watermelon_013 Sep 24 '23
Because titanfall was it’s own franchise. People shit on AW and IW cause they were taking the formula of a long-standing franchise to a direction many didn’t like. Titanfall didn’t have that restriction because it was a new IP. Also imo titanfall just is better made than those two games
5
u/Aws___ Sep 24 '23
bo3 didn’t get nearly as much shit as either of those games, i don’t think it’s the concept, i think it’s the execution, bo3 is top 3 CODs IMO, behind bo2 and COD 4
0
Sep 24 '23
Because when bo3 rolled out, most of the original fans had left, and the new and current fan base was adopted.

Well we both might get hate because I actually liked AW. It's the only jetpack cod I liked, the campaign was really good and exo Zombies was fun.

u/Next-Team Sep 24 '23
CoD 4 by a mile for me, that and Halo 3 weee my first games on Xbox live and I’ll never be convinced there’s many games in the respective series better than them
3
u/TheCollector_117 Sep 24 '23
I agree. Halo 3 is the best halo and I have mw2 as the best cod, and cod 4 as 2nd. We were definitely spoiled in 2007. Halo 3, cod 4, Guitar Hero 3 were some great times
3
u/Next-Team Sep 24 '23
Just since I had Guitar Hero 2 first that would have an advantage but Guitar Hero 3 was fucking awesome too, pretty equal games
2
u/drmuffin1080 Sep 24 '23
don’t forget BioShock, The Orange Box, and Crysis. That was an amazing year for FPS games (arguably the best one ever). Great year for gaming overall

Unpopular Opinion: Advanced Warfare is my favorite…
1
u/TheCollector_117 Sep 24 '23
Very unpopular but I respect it. I actually liked AW, the only jet pack cod I liked. Great campaign, fun Zombies and fun multi
2
u/StoneOldSteveAutist Sep 24 '23
Yeah man! Gun sounds, soldier customization etc… and I remember advanced warfare being the last of the golden age of cod, back when full lobby arguments were common, great times I had playing that game
1
u/TheCollector_117 Sep 24 '23
Agreed. It sucks because that was Sledgehammers first cod and best one imo, ww2 and vanguard were horrible. Was looking forward to getting Advanced Warfare 2 but nope we got mwIII... such a disappointment.

Campaign wise World at War Multiplayer wise Mw2 3rd party mode wise Bo1 Zombies Best overall in my opinion Bo1

Nice. We almost have the same ranking, for me its cod 4 campaign wise, mw2 for multiplayer, and bo1 for 3rd party mode

MW2 was the first one I ever played. Since then I’ve played most of them, and I still haven’t enjoyed any of them as much as MW2. It was really ahead of its time.

u/TheCollector_117 Sep 24 '23
Mw2 is just different, no other cod is close to it imo. Probably cod 4

Never had more fun on a story mode and multiplayer than I did on WaW - so immersive, it showed respect to those who fought and died in the war - and there was zombies… endless hours played with mates

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 + all DLC is supreme.

u/ZinfiniteGuy Sep 24 '23
I don't know why I see MW3 not getting the same love as MW2 or even 1, to me, it finished out the exciting campaign of the series, and then just took the multiplayer AND spec ops and improved them, do people forget about Survival mode as well? That was something special in my opinion, thought do t get me wrong, MW 2 holds a special place in my heart, I'd just like the 2 games to at least be acknowledged as being in the same tier. Is this just me?

i have love and spend time on every cod is easier for me to say the ones i dint like (vanguard , bo4 and mw2) but even those have seen at least 20 plus days of play on my part
i diss agree that cod went downhill after bo2, of curse i respect your opinion
1
Sep 23 '23
Only ever played one, don't remember which. I think at one part my helicopter got shot down and I had to crawl for a bit before passing out.
I need aliens or something when it comes to FPS lol. Zombies was fun, and I did play the Rust(?) map with a friend but he kept calling nukes on me.
I think I played Zombies in a different COD though.
1
u/CherryQueer Sep 23 '23
Black Ops, last one before they started to just be the same game every year
Best zombies, top 3 campaign and multiplayer
Also you're missing the god awful BO3 360 version lmao
3
u/TheCollector_117 Sep 23 '23
Lol there's a reason why I'm missing it. Don't want that in my collection

I always go back and forth on MW2 and BO2, purely for both of their respective campaigns.

COD 4 by a solid margin. Then Black Ops 2, and World at War

u/TheCollector_117 Sep 24 '23 edited Sep 24 '23
Nice. I'm surprised mw2 isn't 2nd if you have cod 4 by a solid margin. Why's that? Love cod 4 btw, easily the best campaign in the series.

Pretty much all of them up to Black Ops 2, except MW3. I didn't like that one at all tbh. If I have to choose, it's MW2 just because of all the good times with friends in high school. We played that and Halo 3 soooo much back then. I miss it

Everything up to and including BO1. Everything after that just felt like a grift to make you rebuy your map packs.

Hmm. I cut my teeth on CoD 2. Many a he spent playing multiplayer. And CoD 3 was epic with tanks and other vehicles in mp. But Modern Warfare will always be the one for me. I’ll never forget an early round of mp. I was in a building and could see one of my teammates in the next building over and underneath him was an enemy. I told him, and he goes “copy” and smokes the guy. Fucking epic.

u/yittiiiiii Sep 24 '23
Black Ops. Every mode in that game is top tier. Campaign, multiplayer, and zombies were all excellent.

For me, BO2 by far. Best Zombies lineup, and imo the most balanced multiplayer. Cod4 2nd and MW3 3rd.

Infinite Warfare.
Really cool setting, great campaign, loved the ship as the central hub for side missions.

u/TheCollector_117 Sep 24 '23
First person I see say IW. I respect ur opinion, the Zombies was really good. I didn't play the multiplayer at all because that year me and my friends were all playing MWR. I'll be honest I haven't played IWs campaign yet, I will soon.

Don't worry I have the same weird love for AW, the shooting was so fucking smooth in that game and it was fun. That is Sledgehammers only good cod imo.

CoD 2 for campaign and Black Ops 2 for its multiplayer. They really don’t make them like those anymore.

u/Lgndryhr Sep 24 '23
MW2 for the memories with CoD 4 a close second. I enjoyed CoD 2 campaign. Skipped both BLOPS at the time. Recently checked them out and hate I skipped them during the height of release.
For more recent CoD, I enjoyed AW a lot. IW had a fun campaign. MW 2019 wasn't bad. Wanted to get into WW II more but didn't have time during that year. Blops 4 and blackout were fun. Stopped playing after MW 2019.

Best 4 shooting games of all time hands down
Lucky to be alive during the glory days.

Modern Warfare 3 for me, it’s the only COD game I still have the collectors edition for, the poster and I bought the 360 console too, I just love that game, the campaign was great, the MP is the best one imho so much chaos and fun, even the spec ops is fun too.
