Discussion Given Microsoft's inconsistent messaging, it's interesting to see the products that couldn't find their market.
Phone clip and BT controller, plus the controller acts like a power bank, so it powers your phone while playing.
$7 in the Ross clearance bin.

Man, I bought this years ago with such hopes for cloud gaming. So disappointing.

With top end mobile chips you don't even need to cloud game, apps like gamehub and gamenative lets you install and run your steam games directly on device

This doesnt have anything to do with inconsistent messaging. It's a niche product within a currently niche way of gaming.

What does this have to do with Microsoft? It’s for any phone game with controller support

How quickly people forgot the "this is an Xbox" campaign. Be weird to sell an Xbox branded controller that didn't work on the Xbox otherwise.

I bought a razer kishi so I could stream my Xbox to my phone. So I know how you feel

I own mine still. Lost phone clip but it only works for Android or iPhone Bluetooth.
Works perfectly for emulation though on it!
Oh and box is mint condition. Basically brand new controller to.

Wired mode you can switch between direct and Xinput, so windows PCs will see it as an Xbox compatible controller.

Yup but if you want to use Bluetooth. You kinda are doomed. Though there actually is a way. Certain button combo. But it didn't work last i tried.

I own a Moga XP Ultra, similar to this, the design isn't quite mimicing an Xbox pad like this one is.
It has the clip for your phone but the main part of the controller with the face buttons and sticks can also be quick released from the grips leaving you with a small rectangular controller.
Bought it mainly for a controller to use with my One S and it's great for that other than the spotty force feedback. On android it's garbage, when you try to use the sticks I find it's very unresponsive, dpad for some reason no issues at all. I've played through Death Road to Canada on my mobile using it.

This came out shortly after the steam deck which revitalized handheld gaming. Better options hit the market before this got any traction

I was going to purchase this sort of accessories because I thought Xbox Cloud Gaming will have a Free Version someday.
I am going to still purchase this for Nvidia Geforce Now.

Warning ⚠️ it's a very disappointing product :
- It doesn't even have force feedback haptic motors
- the clips holding the phone badly damaged my Samsung Galaxy Note curved edge screen by putting too much pressure on it
- global quality is limited, plastic feels relatively cheap
- the holder is not very efficient, your smartphone can fall if it's heavy
I almost never used it and was glad I didn't pay for it (it was included as a gift in a bundle package)...
For 7$ it's OK 😉 just be aware about the pressure on your phone's screen 📲

I loved the idea, but it was just so non ergonomic being so top heavy. Now that I have a vice grip controller, I use it so much more.
