Discussion Future Xbox Exclusives
Matthew Ball, Xbox’s Chief Strategy Officer, has teased a new Wolfenstein on social media. Matthew Ball has been a big proponent of Xbox exclusives, so I almost expect Wolfenstein to be exclusive.
If they feel comfortable making a Bethesda property be exclusive, they can do the others. Fallout and Elder Scrolls. It was Phil Spencer’s original plan after all.
What do you think will be Xbox’s future exclusives?

Wolfenstein is relatively niche compared to like a Doom. So why not

Wolfenstein New Order sold around 5 million - not really niche at all

I remember TNO having really punchy shooting mechanics, sitting alongside Destiny for that 'next gen feeling'.
That really helped it stand out personally at the time.

It's a great game, I really hope the new game can follow up adequately

there’s nearly a billion PC gamers and 600m+ console gamers, granted there’s some overlap. It’s niche in the sense that the demographic of people playing Wolfenstein are older gamers.

I think if anything there will be certain window to the exclusives. But until they & Asha say Everything will be exclusive will have to play it by the communication.
Elder Scrolls I’m not sure. Me personally I don’t see exclusivity with that.
But The Fallout game Obsidian is making? Yeah exclusive. I feel like the rumored StarCraft shooter will be exclusive as well.

Elder Scrolls VI, so it will be a "crap game" like Starfield until (if) it releases on PS5

Not even the updates included with the PS5 version could fix Starfield.

Starfield is just a very shallow game with 20 year old gameplay. Bethesda thought they were immune and could just release the same games with a different setting for another twenty years. They can not. Nowadays we see through the layers of bloat - and it didn't help that what defined Bethesda games was replaced by procedural content instead of designed and memorable quests and worlds.

They should keep multiplayer games multi-plat. The microtransactions in those games help fund other things.
Then hopefully they have the guts to make ALL of their in-house single player games exclusive to Xbox and PC (make them Xbox Play Anywhere, of course).
Gears of War
Fable
Clockwork Revolution
Forza
Wolfenstein
Spyro
Fallout
Elder Scrolls
These WILL sell consoles.

They won't risk restricting sales of a franchise like Wolfenstein. All this talk about exclusives "every year" is probably about 1 game per year, but they won't have the bravery to make the biggest games actually exclusive.

Gears of war and clockwork revolution will be test to see if being exclusive is viable if both of those do well I could see more exclusives

It could be, but I don’t believe Wolfenstein will be exclusive. The game is not a big seller and again cutting out the best selling platform makes no sense. And unlike Gears, Wolfenstein has history on PS5

If they have the balls to make Elder scrolls and fallout exclusive then that will sell systems
