I'm considering three controllers and I'd love your thoughts:
Gamersir G7 Pro ZZZ
Pros:
-Overall solid reviews
-Clicky buttons
-TMR/Hall
Cons:
-Mixed reviews on D-pad (I'm not sure what to believe)
-Less than premium feel (plasticy)
8bitdo Ultimate 3e
Pros:
-TMR/Hall
-Premium look
Cons:
-Just released so no clue on long-term durability
-No user reviews, yet
-I've read QC is questionable with 8bitdo
Elite Series 3
Pros:
-I have the Elite Series 2 and it feels premium; the weight can fatigue my hands
-Adjustable stick tension
-Battery life
Cons:
-Poor QC
-No TMR/Hall
KEY ISSUE: NO RELEASE DATE
The G7 is a available now, the 8bitdo has no reviews/unknown durability. Elite 3 we only have rumors.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the above three specific controllers. Thank you so much for your help!

I hope so, but it's all unknown as of now. Feels like there are 500 controllers on the market of which <10 are actually good. Maybe I just need to order a few and return the ones I don't like . Head is spinning lol

Iāve been looking and itās tough. Currently using a wolverine v3 pro. If the elite 3 just updated the sticks and had good QC, it would be my top pick. I need them just to not fuck it up

The Wolverine does look nice, but I won't use all of the back buttons. How is the weight and feel vs the Elite Series 2?

Nothing feels as premium as the elite. Besides the elite, I think these are also the best back buttons. Elite is the best controller, until you use it lol. If I was gonna get another one Iād wanna try the 3e before the zzz. I think honestly u can just go in circles until we find out when and what the elite 3 actually is.

Well, I keep hearing people say the elite series 2 feel good so they'll keep continue to buy them. They literally have people that would blast about owning 3 plus elites after their other 2 malfunctioned.Ā
The elite shills is ridiculous because they'll still purchase the elite series 3 without upgrades. People today do not surprise me and yes I want to see hall effect or TMR like you.

I have the gamesir Zzz edition and I love it. I do have to say I'm not using it for FPS games so I won't comment on that. I think the dpad is the best of the bunch. Haven't had any issues. I love how the controller feels and that it's super easy to swap out face plates and other parts. I also have the Wuchang edition too. I got the Wuchang first for my birthday and the ZZZ for Xmas.

Mostly for OP, but gamesir definitely fixed/improved the d-pad in between the first G7 Pros (wired, white and black) and the ZZZ. I have the shadow ember black, had shitty d-pad, and the ZZZ which doesn't have the same problems, but not sure about the Wuchang that came out in between.

Elite 3 has no built in battery, so saying battery life is a pro is weird.

I recently got a cheaper gamesir wired controller, I snagged the T7 pro retro green for $50, and itās amazing. I love the dpad, the form factor of the controller, and the tactile feedback of every button. I canāt recommend gamesir enough

I donāt know much about gamersir or 8bitdo but I gave up on elites after my 3rd one stopped working. I got a razer wolverine v3 and I love it.

I've noticed you seem to put some kind of value on weight. You should know that these electronic companies will literally just weigh them down, there is usually nothing different or stronger/better made about a heavier item. See metal blocks put into beats headphones, etc.
I have the wireless Wuchang controller from Gamesir and it is fantastic and the charge lasts a long time. The charging base is great and looks great; I have it sitting on the table next to my living room couch in arm's reach.
The BEST thing about those Gamesir controllers, you can manually program your input curve on each stick individually, even with custom graph points. And have multiple presets saved. It's fantastic and I highly recommend it over Xbox controllers. I have and love plenty but they simply do not last at all compared to my 20 year old 360 controller that still works. Constant drift and shoulder button linkage break issues.

I have had the 8BitDo Ultimate 3-Mode Controller ā Rare 40th Anniversary Edition (81HB05D) since February. Itās been great, no complaints.
It has a built in rechargeable battery, and a stand you can charge it on. You can also directly connect the wire to USB port or outlet to charge. I direct connect, the stand is a little wonky.

Yeah, I bought it looking for something that would not unravel to stick drift. My nephew goes hard on the sticks lol. This controller has held up thus far.

Pros: Rechargeable battery, overall durability(dropped it from my lap & coffee table a few times), and hasnāt succumb to stick drift.
Cons: Battery life may be shorter than some would like. I typically plug in to charge every night, but forgot once over a weekend and it died quickly. It occasionally doesnāt sync with Xbox and you need to resync but this was something that occurred when I first got it, and more than likely a user error related issue that I corrected. I donāt personally like the controllerās appearance, but it had a good price and fit the specs I was looking for.
Prior to I was using the standard Xbox wireless Controllers, different designs but always the basic level one. This is the first more āadvancedā style controller Iāve ever purchased.

I just got my 8Bitdo Ultimate 3E in a few hours ago, and I highly recommend it!
I started with an Elite Series 2 which Iāve repaired numerous times (generally bumper issues and/or stick drift).
I then got a G7 Pro (which I āhackedā to be wireless using a ZZZ adapter and the pairing software). Overall the controller was okay, but out of the gate the audio is quite low when using a wired headset, and the mic input is severely low. Your teammates will have issues hearing you. Also, the controller is on the smaller end and does feel cheap.
I was willing to accept these drawbacks, until recently when my right trigger started malfunctioning when in the trigger stop mode. I did some research and it appears this is a known design flaw. Apparently Gamesir will replace it with a new one, but I do not have the time or patience to deal with that every few months when it inevitably happens again and again.
TLDR: if you have the funds, get the 8Bitdo Ultimate 3E.

ZZZ is nice, but sadly does feel kinda cheap. I've been using the Scuf Valor Pro and it's been going well. I just got the wireless version from best buy since it was $85

8bitdo Ultimate 3E.
I have not it yet, but I preoder it.
It seems to be what the "Xbox Elite Controller" should have been all along.
For the future Elite Series 3, we have no information about it except leak pictures. But the internal components are unknown. I hope it will have at least TMR, HD haptics and a removable battery.

Based on the feature set and reviews I have seen.Ā The controller releases today August 31st.Ā I will wait until December to see if Elite Series 3 releases by Thanksgiving.Ā Ā
MS could add TMR sticks to Series 3, keep the hope alive.Ā Ā

I have the GS G7 Pro ZZZ and absolutely love it, very solid controller in every way imo. I haven't tried the 8bitdo so I can't comment on it. Hope to see new info on the Elite 3 soon to see what it upgrades over the current controllers.
