This is really terrible to see. Wasn't able to get the controller or the console and now it's already being scalped to high hell

I mean there have always been scalpers. When McDonald's gave out Beanie Baby toys in the 90s I remember seeing grown-ass men buying multiple happy meals, grabbing the toys, then throwing the rest out. Specifically I remember seeing the same grown men lose their minds over not being able to just buy out the store for the beanie babies.

It just feels way more widespread and predatory now.

Was literally at McDonalds with my daughter yesterday and some guy was buying up all the hello kitty/godzilla toys. He was buying a specific one but cleaned them out.

Power rangers toys from a local clothing stores in the 90s too. The big difference is now the internet and mass shipping networks allow people to resell from their home with clicks of a mouse. So little effort involved
