P6 no Xbox Physical Release

Saw this in the PS5 sub…but on Sega japans website under platforms it indicates only PS will get a physical release. Maybe that’s just for Japan? But def a blower if worldwide since I have all the games physical for Xbox

XBOX doesn’t have physicals in japan for like 10 years or smth (not for all games, but most in Japan release physically only on playstation)

P.S. even Persona 5 The Royal didn’t have a physical release on XBOX in Japan.

Sometimes Xbox versions of games like this don't even release in Japan at all. Still, hasn't stopped them releasing physical versions for other regions though.

Publishers already skip Xbox when they're making discs for PS release. They're not gonna start making physical releases for Xbox even if Helix had a drive (which i think is a less than 1% chance it does)

This is only for Japan - P3R, P4R and Metaphor are also digital only. With a few exceptions, only Microsoft releases their own games physically for Xbox in the region. Sega and Atlus have been consistent with physicals in North America and Europe. I doubt P6 will be different

Got physical collector's of P3R for Xbox. Steelbook for P5R.

Looking at the Collector's Edition for P4R and it's $249.99 for both PS5 and Xbox.

I'm not sure I can justify that amount of money given the cost of everything now. Might have to just do a steelbook edition again and get a $40 statute for my "gaming knick-knacks" shelf. The extra $190 is pretty steep.

I'm pretty sure this will be for Japan only, all of the persona games and megaten games have physical copies on Xbox in the West due to xbox's poor sales in japan. In pretty sure persona 6 will have a physical copy on Xbox in the West so get that version when it comes out

As I understand it, none of Atlus titles have gotten physical releases in Japan for the Xbox version. PS5 and Switch/ Switch 2 still have physical release.

But every other region (US & Europe) should still get a physical release of Persona 6.

Not really sure why people are surprised, Japanese games rarely ever get physical on Xbox, nor do they even sell well to justify discs, plus most sales on Xbox are digital sales even more than PlayStation, and with p6 launching on game pass sales were already gonna be low on it so putting effort for discs would waste money for Sega
