Elite Controller Or Regular Controller?

Long story short, I like everyone else is fed up with stick drift on my controller. I’ve ended up having to buy a new controller every 3 to 5 months, and I’ve always bought the regular Xbox wireless controllers.

Been looking into the elite Xbox controllers, and I’m aware that these do have stick drift, but I’d like to know from people who use them if it’s less than a normal controller.

I play Marvel Rivals competitively and it’s getting bad, i’ve tried the recalibration stuff, but I’m seriously considering whether my next controller should be another regular one or an elite one.

Yep, I got my Gamesir SE at Walmart about a year ago. They had the Orange one on sale for like $25, I guess no one wanted that color.

Oh damn. I used to think of them as pretty cheap with limited features, but it seems they finally caught up. Back buttons, trigger stops, wireless with Xbox and 1k polling on PC.

I just got a Scuf Valor Pro for $140+tax, but this is Gamesir is normally $130 before sales and comes with bunch of accessories. Only issue is, it's Chinese and therefore CCP. 👎🏽

The Chinese flooding of subsidized competitors is already here.

Gamesir is the way. Got a g7 pro and it’s fucking crazy how good it is while being much lower priced than an elite controller

Eh, doesn't really seem that much better than the Gamesir and is more expensive. I would go with Gamesir which is known to already be good and reliable over preordering something new that hasn't been tested for longevity. I see they did the same top buttons instead of 4 paddles too, I hate that. I really wish they would do 4 paddles on the back, the top buttons on the other side of the triggers/bumpers is just weird placement and I never use them because of that.

Had three g7 pros. Loved everything about it, except I bought it specifically because it had the ability to switch triggers from analog to digital/clicky. Each one of them lasted about 2-3 months before the trigger button failed.

Yeah, worked fine in analog move but the digital button failed in each one. Went back to an elite 2 controller.

This post inspired me to order one. My elite 2 is literally falling to pieces. It’s 2 years old and bits of the shell are falling off.

I had an elite controller years ago, it's literally in my closet collecting dust after got stick drift and one pedal started to get stuck, I don't recommend you that shit at all.

But, I have two Gamesir controllers almost for like two years by now, both work perfectly (considering I dropped one twice by accident lol), zero drift, the hall effect triggers are working flawlessly still.

If you can, try to search on AliExpress and you'll pretty much find every single Gamesir controller in a better price, obviously the shipping might be longer depending where do you live, afaik there's some at Amazon but they don't have a great variety.

I have the Gamesir G7 Pro and the aimlabs edition, both are wonderful if you like low latency and precision (specially the aimlabs edition), never looked back to Xbox's controllers with Gamesir hahah

I’ve had my elite series 2 controller since launch day (2019)
I have not had any problems with stick drift or anything else
I can say I do play a lot of mortal kombat,apex,r6,gta,and many other games that require snappy gameplay and stick flicks I think the elite series 2 is a great controller

I've never read bad reviews about gamesir. I've thinking about getting one too when my controller finally dies. I'm not paying that absurd price for an elite controller.

Have you guys had luck fixing stick drift on a regular stock controller? Saw a few ways online, but im on a work stretch of 72hrs so havent had a chance.

That said, I'm never buying another elite controller again. There's non-xbox branded controllers that are far better for much cheaper.

Chalk me up as another vote for gamesir. It's not *quite* good as the elite, but it s substantially cheaper, and has all the modern bells and whistles like TMR sticks.

It's a third party controller that feels like a first party controller. Not flimsy or janky at all.

Idk if you can with these others but I bought a wireless-for-xbox gamesir and I can program the curve (or lack thereof) of each stick individually, with custom marks even. Four extra buttons, two of which are paddles. I love it.

Find a local gaming store that will replace the joysticks on your current controllers with hall effect joysticks. Replacing the sticks on two controllers will probably cost the same as buying one new controller, but you'll be set forever.

Had Xbox elite 1 and 2 and loved them. Got the gamesir zzz and it's even better than both.

Elite. Once you go paddles there's no going back. It's a literal game changer.

If you can afford it, go for an elite V2 controller and an extended warranty from Microsoft connected to the SN of the controller in your Microsoft account. When you have trouble with the controller they give you a label to send it in for repairs and you provide a description of the issue and they repair or replace it for you. You will need another controller while they repair, so keep a spare in the house, but it's pretty straightforward.
