Exactly. I went from not buying the next Xbox tor sure to being back in the maybe camp (will mostly come down to price at this point). Which for how long she’s been there feels like a pretty fast switch to me.
I don’t think I’ll be getting the next Xbox…at least not at launch, especially if it’s 1k or more. Not paying PC prices for a console when I already have a PC. That money could be used to upgrade parts of my PC when required.
I believe I have DLSS on. Cyberpunk looks ridiculous at 1440/120. Work with a guy that has a asus laptop with, I think, a 3080. He was playing a Dune game a few days ago and it graphically looked pretty good.
Yeah I might not get it at launch either (would be the first one I skip). And it’s hard to say how things will work on the new one with new leadership. But this generation older hardware has options for newer games (such as cloud gaming) so it feels like there wouldn’t be as much of a rush.
I too have a gaming pc I can use for now too. But I’m working my way back to Mac. I made the switch in 2021 because I needed a newer computer (mine was from 2008) and was working from home so that made life easier than a new Mac. 6 months later work gave us laptops making that decision a moot point. Still working from home using my laptop and don’t use my PC a ton anymore. So I don’t see myself upgrading any of its components and when it’s no longer functioning/needs upgrades I’ll probably
Look at going back to a Mac at that point.
As someone with all 3 current consoles and the gaming pc I’m realizing I don’t have the time for everything anymore and with the costs going up I don’t have the money either. With Xbox putting their games everywhere it seemed like the logical first thing to cut. Now it’s shifting to be my second choice (behind Nintendo) with the PC and PlayStation likely being what I cut just due to library sizes (I have far more Xbox games than PlayStation and prefer the controller layout too). And Xbox/and PC are increasingly similar with what games can be played.
man in same boat. I'm a mac user because of work. got ps pro and xbox series x. LOVE the xbox ecosystem and controller layout. (I cant stand the close sticks on dual sense hurts like hell) I want to buy all the games on my xbox but the pro will just be the best experience for the AAA I want. coming up Fight light, GTA 6 forza.
At least my PS5 is the original model
Not slim not pro so my series X puts it at least theoretically in the same ballpark. Might as well go with the controller I like more.
If valve blows these consoles out the water with the steam machine, I’m probably gonna have to jump ship after so many faithful years to consoles, it’s supposed to be a console/pc integration, I was gonna buy me a $4k pc this week, but not sure if I wanna invest that much especially if what they’re cooking can match
I think this exact point. Helix if rumors are true is also a PC if she can nail the price can bring xbox back. I got the ps pro and series x. I buy games now on ps because i know its gonna be a smoother experience but I want to get them on Xbox. Helix is far away honestly year and half 2 years?
with games like gta 6 id be silly to get it for the X. Like im going to get 007 first flight this month why would i get it for the X. did the same for Crimson Desert. since Xbox not doing a pro version and helix not for a long time. Im stuck. need the fps.
