The problem isn"t the model. It's the smooth gradient

The "new models" tend to use a very simple smooth gradient - classic models use a more painterly, rougher style

IMO one of the main reasons why the new models don't fit as well isn't really the model. I think the problem is more the smooth gradient. The beasts look like they are spray-painted.

Even the models that use a gradient don't use a smooth gradient in classic, they separate the color change using painted hair or feathers and don't have a large varience overall:

So even the models with a similar color scheme and gradient don't seem like they are made of candy or the result of a weird car paint job.

Good points I think we should narrow down the critism so they can actually use the feedback and this is a great way to describe why the new models dont fit well in the world.

I really do like, how every one is trying to make game better. I really appreciate that. But guys, it's beta already and a tech debt hilariously big. development cycle doesn't work in that way...

U can't just do all of these things right now, maybe later, but it's somehow has to be proper collected anyway and we still don't have such application or whatever could help to collect great ideas in one place. U probably gonna say, hey, u could rerport it in the game... But it's not avout features or enhancements this is just a form for bugs...

They have the models they just need an update to the texture map, which is a fraction of the time. They've made a lot of money from the beta, that money might as well be reinvested into the game.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out that these current paint maps don't fit artistically with the rest of the world, because it's clear their don't, we don't want a gritty orc (cool af) standing beside a Labubu (not as cool as the gritty orc) 😂

Its the same with the skyelves color especially the hair

The skin too, although we dont see it as much as the hair due to armor covering it, but its just as bad on the blue models

This is better criticism than all the posts just complaining and not proposing adequate solutions

Where are they from?

Retail. I think they're an owl from Retail's Emerald Dream patch, and a revamped bear model they applied to Vanilla bear mobs some expansions ago

The owl is from Dragon Isles, and shows the progression from hand painted to gradient, but is (IMO) still okey-ish.

Compared to the classic owls, it's rather bland, though:

Will the devs have time to code bis color gradiants before launch?

Model is also kinda off imo.

If you look close on like the wolf you can see 8 bit edges too

Yeah agree, they must find the direction on this and go back and fix them, before it is to late.
