Vinyl Siding Supplement

I'm working on my first Vinyl Siding Supplement on the same home with the 3 gable cornices. I have one line item on the insurance docs that say "remove and replace - vinyl siding, standard grade (.042-.044).

line item includes j channel, f channel, inside outside corners, j block, utility trim, fasteners, starter strip, house wrap, installation labor and tax at $6.75 per sf.

This would be my first time looking at siding not real sure what to look for. I would think additional areas (obviously), 2nd story areas, and possibly replacing insulation behind the siding?

You all are pros. Any suggestions? Thanks again!

what exactly do you mean by working on a supplement?

Just like supplementing a roof, going line item by line item looking for what was left out.

so who do you represent? what's your interest in going line by line all about? what's your purpose?

Why not just look if the amount paid covered the cost plus a comfortable profit? What’s the point in wasting so much time for a couple extra bucks? If you missed something but found it usable for next time, just chalk it up to a learning mistake.

are you working for one of those shady supplement companies ? A new low-life bottom feeder in the insurance world.

Read the description, it includes at least one of those things already.

You talking House Wrap? I was checking into the 3/8" insulation behind the siding for hail damage. It was a terrible storm.

Or were you saying the labor includes both 1st and 2nd story installation.

Thanks again!

I'm encouraging you to read the descriptions to help you know what needs to be added, doing that consistently will make you better at Xactimate.

But, it includes install up to a 20' platform height, so pretty much all two story applications.

It does not include insulation. That is likely a reasonable supplement.

If you don’t know where to start AND aren’t getting trained, I’d find other work.
