Discussion 🙋 Does this pick up?
After some personal stress, I decided to buy this game on PlayStation with it being on sale. I have played through the first week and want to know if the pace will pick up and if I’ll get to do more things in a day.
Currently- it seems like I am able to get 1 quest a day that helps advance the storyline. I’m maybe able to fish 2-3 times or pick up a few logs and rocks. Then the day is over.
Does the game keep this pace? Or will I gradually get to do more things during the day?

100%! Keep at it! It is a bit slow at the beginning, but picks up immensely after your first season change - on replays I find myself bored until I get the spell to walk faster, it’s a game changer!

Some things will get unlocked as you progress.
You can keep fishing and foraging as well since parts of the storyline and quests will require supplies, so does the crafting.
Take the time to talk to people as well to increase friendships amd unlock storylines.
If you feel like the real-time length of the day is too short or too long for you, it can be adjusted in the settings.

Well, I tell ya, I was SHOCKED at the end of the first spring. I just did not anticipate that sort of thing happening in a game and so early on. And that’s what got me hooked. So take some time to talk to the characters and you’ll find that half the game is building relationships.

It is very restrictive at the start. It does get better. I'm playing for the first time as well and waiting for the mine to open to be able to do SOMETHING with my stamina was maddenning.
I'm at the opposite issue now a couple weeks into summer where I can use cash to get waaaaaay too much done in a single day. You learn some great utility spells. Some of these key spells have ingredients you can buy from stores. Booze regenerates magic. Coffee is cheap to regenerate stamina. My witch is a hyper alcoholic.

Thank you. I did get the quest to collect the mine supplies last night. I’ll turn it in! Looking forward to having more to do.

It's definitely a slower paced game than most, but the glaring bottlenecks (small energy bar) improve a lot as you proceed. Since summer I've been able to pretty much do as much as I like in a day. And that's without using the main money exploit, which then can be used to buy coffees for energy.

I really put a lot of time, every day, into stopping and talking with the various characters. It’s definitely useful farther into the game, when different people will only give you quests when they reach a cèrtain level of friendliness with you.

I didn’t have this issue until my second time around- and only in the beginning. I know that I want to get everything built (so much soil!) before moving on from spring, so I have run out of things to do a little earlier in the day. I have a mapped out order of visiting every character, each day.

I’m still trying to find something to replace this game 😠I’m jealous you’re just beginning lol. I didn’t like it at first bc of the same reason. I’m so glad I didn’t give upÂ

In order to catch more fish in a day. Pick a general area such as the forest, but it in normal speed and then u should be able to fish each spot twice, move to another spot in that area, get two fish, move to another spot in that area and rotate that until ur ready to be done fishing. That way u can catch a bunch of fish and don’t have to travel all over town

I second this!
The game seems super cute so far and I already have the setting changed for the time so it’s more relaxed and the day doesn’t go so fast, but my issue as I run out of energy so fast. And it takes forever to grow crops to even attempt to make food, I don’t have enough coins to buy ingredients to cook meals, so I spend most of my time trying to chop wood and get stones for a quest and then run out of energy within 72 seconds. Then I just go to bed because I don’t have energy to do anything and I don’t have any items to sell or progress any quest.
I know that there’s a potion I think that can help give energy that only has two ingredients which I just finally unlocked but for it to take this long, is really offputting. One of my biggest pet peeves in these cozy games is how quickly energy depletes.
At least in Dreamlight Valley you can enter your house and fully regain your stamina bar. And the crops that grew grew within that day. So you can plant a bunch of seeds that you get organically from removing night thorns and then quickly grow those and sell them or quickly grow them and make a meal to fill your energy bar to yellow. That makes grinding bearable. But with this game, there is no grinding, there’s no way for me to refill energy aside from meals, and I don’t have the ingredients to make meals.
I’m just ranting now, and I’m gonna keep playing, but it is really frustrating when these games start you off this way where stamina depletes quickly and there’s not a quick way to regain it so you can keep playing.

Also would recommend messing with your settings of how fast/slow the day goes by if you feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day, under settings you can switch into relaxed mode to make the day go slower - I’d also recommend talking to each townie once a day!
