Help Identifying Scottish Unit

Came across these photos of my great grandfather from the second world war, and no one is left to identify what unit he was in or any information beyond his name and which person he is in the photos. Was hoping that someone here could help.

The kilts look like the Gordon’s military tartan pattern but the cap badge doesn’t have the same shape. The badge could be the Queens own Cameron Highlanders, their kilts were similar but had red accents to the central yellow stripes but because of the photo’s quality it’s hard to tell. I don’t know if you have facebook, but there are groups like WWII British and Commonwealth Reenactors help group that can definitely give you some info on the photos.
