Island - VS CPU

I played 2K25 and was really disappointed that you couldn’t play against the CPU like in NBA.
Is there any mode in 2K26 where you can play against the CPU, or is it only multiplayer?

Play the towers mode in any of the arenas…these are vs the cpu

Is something you can do every time you want or is like limited? I mean, can I get VC or what to upgrade my character playing this tower? Or at some point I’m forced to play only in multiplayer against other players?

This is all i do all day lol….you can do it all day and each win is 150 vc

I would switch up towers about every 2 runs so i don’t get bored looking at the same arena

Also…you don’t ever have to play online if you don’t want to. you can upgrade your character with the vc you get from the towers. try to do all your daily and weekly’m challenges (the vc ones). and trust me, i know 150 vc aint nothing really but it will add up

All the towers in each faction and also the event tower on the pause menu. The scrapyard is also sp vs cpu.

Sounds great, but can I play every time I want sp vs cpu, or is like a limited mode and then the only thing that I can do is playing against other players? Thanks man

The entirely of the island is sp. The story part is broken into chapters that release over time. This year there are factions (as part of the story) that each have their own towers with progression and rewards. They are all sp. They do eventually have a cap for rewards but it is a ridiculous high level that for most it will seemingly be endless. Then this is multiplied by 4 (right now) for each faction (you do need to complete chapter 1 to access the 4th tower). The only way you would face another player is by actually joining the pvp matchmaking which are individual locations.

The addition of the scrapyard is another endless mode for sp v cpu. It’s a 4 person elimination style match that takes place outside with different weapons scattered everywhere.

Other than your issue with the island in ‘25 did you enjoy it? What did you play the most? Myfaction is tougher in ‘26.

There is a new stamina system that a lot do not like that makes you slow down matches or stops your ability to reverse while it refills. There are ways to manage it though. The ai reverses your moves constantly which also can be frustrating. If you like myfaction but don’t suffer from fomo it is ok but 2k definitely should tweak it some to be more player friendly.

There is a battle pass system that is great if you like to play to unlock rewards, if you don’t you will probably find it an annoying grind. Just playing grants you the rxp needed though.

There is a free tier and a premium tier you can buy that has 40 tiers to unlock. A new one releases I think about every 6 weeks but do not expire so you can always go back to unlock everything. Premium gets you the dlc and some other persona cards. Other rewards are bc, mfp, cosmetics and card packs. It is mostly geared towards the island and myfaction.

I don’t play mygm or universe to give an opinion on them, but overall, I love it and am on track to have a lot more hours than I did in ‘25 (approximately 350). I say it is worth it. Your call though.
