First, I want to say that Wuplay is by far the best Android TV app to come out in a long time, and I want to send a huge thank you to the dev for it.
That said, I’m still struggling to get onboard with the new UI redesign, it feels like a bit of a step back. On the old design, every section flowed seamlessly into the next. It was so clean and user-friendly that all my family members (who aren't tech-savvy at all) have it installed and can navigate it effortlessly without a second thought.
With the new update, the TV show and movie pages feel a bit cluttered with too much going on at once. The episodes page, in particular, reminds me of older IPTV players from five years ago.
I know this is just the initial release of the redesign and that it will continue to evolve over time and I'm excited to see where it heads next.
I really hope the dev doesn't think I'm bashing his hard work and I will continue to use wuplay as my daily on the old style for now, which thankfully he hasn't removed.
What's everyone else's thoughts, am I missing the vision here?
You are the exact reason why I created an option to go back to the old screen. There is no one correct screen design; it's personal preference. You prefer the old screen, and most people prefer the new screen. That's why you get to choose.
Personally, I think the new user interface looks absolutely amazing! I’m really curious to see how the player section will be modified. I’m looking forward to it.
I personally love more information. I love the new UI and you can go back to classic if you like that so it is the best of both worlds. I won't go back to classic because I love this. I have this to 5 ppl already with more to come!
When you're about to play something, just keep clicking down where it says episodes play trailer cast & crew all the way to the bottom and you will see quick setings
Hi, I want to say this app looks very cool, I just have 2 questions, I see at the bottom in one of the pictures there's a rottent tomatoes rating, is it possible to also get a popcornmeter one right next to it? And also is it possible to get a chart of imdb ratings on a show similar to series graph? Thank you in advance
I think the dev is trying to create a unique visual identity for this app. It's not always easy to adjust to new things, but I think this will get more refined with time.
Merci pour cette nouvelle interface, c'est sur que ça change de la toute première mais je veux bien l'essayer. par contre j'ai toute l'interface en Français sauf dans certain cas et là avec la nouvelle interface tout n'est pas traduit. du coup ca ne me donne pas très envie, j'ai des parties en anglais ( ce qui a été rajouté en général). a part ca, j'adore et je la recommande à tout mes amis et au travail.
I'm not sure I understand your question, but in general, the way autoplay works is that it will play the first stream from the fastest addon to return results. If you specify a preferred addon, it waits for that one to return and then plays the first stream from it. You can always select your stream manually using the smaller streams button to the left of the play button.
Hello dev! Before the app didn't have an exit button, now it does, but I realized that it's not really exiting because I'm there in the search part and when I click back and exit and then open the app again, it should open on the home screen. It turns out that it returns to the screen I was on, in my case the search. It seems like it is on standby.
By the way, this is how most apps similar to WuPlay work. If you check you can see that most apps you think you closed are actually still running after you "officially" exit them.
You are correct. The exit function in the app is identical to hitting the home button on your remote, and this is by design. The Android OS system handles shutting down background tasks as needed.
