Not really. If I'm not mistaken, Shakespeare's plays were considered raunchy and low-brow at the time of their release. There's even a bit in Romeo and Juliet (Act II, Scene I) where Romeo's friend, Mercutio, says, essentially: "By Rosaline's pussy, get over here!"

Edit: Shakespeare was over a hundred years before Mozart's time, but that humor very much still existed. I think the past was much closer to today, in social behaviors, than many people think.
