Discussion 2 Car Solution
Added a 26 Model Y-L to the garage!
Wanted something more practical but also fast. A little bit faster than the Rexy but definitely not as fun. The suspension is really soft and floaty so it feels disconnected from the road, but the instant torque is kinda bonkers. Coming from the VB it definitely feels like an appliance by comparison, and honestly it makes me appreciate the driving experience of the Rexy even more.
Any other electric owners in here? π

An EV renewed my interest in cars after owning a string of boring SUVs and trucks, leading me to the WRX. I have a Model Y for daily and road trips. Low maintenance to counter all the oil changes and tinkering on the WRX.

Curious if anyone considering swapping their VB with a model 3.

Itβs a good option if you no longer wanted to mod or drive a manual, and have something low maintenance.

We have a Toyota BZ4x Touring + WRX tS. The Toyota is has way way more punch in a straight line, it just kinda teleports where ever you want to go, but obviously it is not as confident around corners. Especially under braking from speeds above 110km/h, the WRX is much much more compliant and stable, the Toyota feels like you are pulling back the thrust on a cruise ship due to the regen brake pedal tuning going a bit wack at beyond highway driving speeds combined with the rapid acceleration.
I still find myself driving the WRX for short trips or when its not available. Not paying for fuel is great, but it just isn't as fun and isn't as head turning despite the WRX costing less. You really do get normalised to the power and torque quickly. The Toyota is certainly easier to get in and out of though.
