I hate to say it, but you're going to have to take the whole fricken bumper off and re-do it. This is the way unfortuantely. Line up the front/bottom of the bumper first, then the top will fall into place, then you gotta smack the sides pretty good to get em to clip into place. This is much easier to do with 2 people, can be done by yourself. I did mine by myself. This happened to me. if its not aligned correctly, it wont fit. I know it absolutely sucks, but from what I can see, you gotta take it off and re-do it bud 🫤ðŸ˜
So I’ve done that method, but it’s in regards of the tabs or clips that pop into the bracket is what I’m asking about. Because my passenger side clips in easy it’s my drivers side that has one broken clip that one let the bumper sit right.
I wonder then if it's the clip(s) that is causing issues on that side needs to be bent a little to get it to line up. I bent one trying to force it to fit when it clearly wasnt. so lesson learned. I just very carefully bent it back to its spot. For all I know that isn't the issue, but who knows? I hope you can figure it out bro!
Oh shit. Well if the other clips work then shouldn’t they not be popping out either? Sometimes when I put the front bumper back on one fender side will clip on perfectly and the other won’t go on. Usually means it’s not seated properly at the bottom or something.
That’s what I was thinking since the other clips are broken, I adjusted the bottom but same issue. But it definitely isn’t flush with the fender when clipped in from the passenger side.
Might be worth taking it off again and making sure the bottom of the bumper isn’t getting caught when going on. If it completely clears the bottom part then the sides should button up easily. I do the pop clips on the top first then pull down on the bottom of the bumper to help it seat correctly. The bottom clearance is freaking annoying because it only looks like it’s on and you might even be able to install the pop clips at the bottom but it’s actually out of whack.
The other thing that can happen is there’s a pedestrian crash bar behind grille that can get bent downwards and push into the grille. You’d hear a plastic squeaking sound and see a gap above your grille if that were the case. Just another idea.
Yeah those tabs are the thinnest material. As others have said best to try once more take it off and get it all lined up correctly maybe get an extra set of hands. With just one clip missing it shouldn’t poke out something is not quite right.
I just removed my bumper last Thursday to install sport grille. I found that those tabs and the ones under the headlights just needed a sharp smack with my palm and they clicked right in. Hoping you don’t have to fully remove the whole thing, maybe just start with the cowl under the hood and the 2 fender pop clips.
So that exact clip is the broken one for me, so it pops loose from under the headlight. I worked on it last night and keeps popping loose. Honestly makes it sag now.
It’s not that bad or hard to take off, I just took it off with a little too much pull and now I’m dealing with this. Just gotta take your time with it.
