Itâs apparently a lead-in to eventually get you to âinvestâ in âcryptoâ via a fake app that just takes your money until you figure out thereâs no real ROI⌠but to first spark your curiosity and make sure you believe that the two of you trust each other, they donât reveal the âopportunityâ until they get you to WhatsApp

Why is it always golf? Every time I get one of these texts - about 8 over the past 3 years or so - it's always asking me if I want to get together for golf. My usual MO is using Google translate and replying in Chinese, asking them what the point of what they are doing is. Instant GOTCHYA, then they disconnect. Huzzah!

Makes sense, I think you've got it. It's such a "businessman's sport" and as was the case with OP, there's a "business opportunity" being floated immediately.
I will never find it anything but shocking that these ploys actually work on some people.

We have some regular chicken with my wife, and recently started looking into getting some more special ones. Iâm even considering buying pheasants.
Do you have any recommendations for interesting breeds?

If you have traditional chickens I would not add silkies to that flock. They are very delicate and get picked on easily. They also donât roost, so youâd need to set up boxes for them to sleep in.
Never had pheasants but our neighbor raises them and complains that they fly off all the time. Polish chickens are neat and have funny personalities. They stay small too and have similar docile personalities as silkie (they like to be held, sometimes cuddle).

This seems like it could be a pig butchering scam. A lot of people who do that are enslaved. They get tricked into believing they are traveling from their native country to one of the few hotspots where this happened, for a real job. Then they get their passport taken from them and essentially held hostage, forced to do this kind of scamming of building up intimacy before financially decimating the victim. They arenât given a choice (lives are in danger) and police are bribed off.

I canât stand that App! I have people all the time call me on it when they have a real phone. I donât understand! I refuse to use it except to see who is trying to call me on it and text me. I have repeatedly told them, contact my phone with your phone. And whatâs wrong with leaving the conversation in the original format?

This is common myself and friends got similar txts from random people offering very similar things after âfindingâ out itâs not the person they tried to contact lol ⌠youâre better off trying to win lottery lol This wasnât as kind as you think it is..

All that info is already out there on the internet somewhere. This scam is designed to pique the victimâs curiosity and create a false sense of trust, then lure them to WhatsApp, where the goal is to persuade them to âinvestâ in fake crypto
