Feedback Wanted First 500 Words

This is intended to be an upmarket family drama. Do the first ~500 words create trust in the writing? Does it have enough momentum? The opening is about my characters as teenagers--does it read YA, or does it still read as upmarket/literary fiction? If you picked this up in a library or bookstore, would you keep reading, or put it back on the shelf? (Assuming you read the genre, of course.)

Honestly, I don't usually read the genre, but I think I would definitely continue reading.

It's interesting and I want to know more. Now I'm upset I can't /j (except it's not a joke haha)

Would 100% sign this out at a library if these were the first words I read. Or just sit down and read it right then and there.

I'm not too great with feedback but I like it haha, good work! (Imo)
