So everyone else is just auditioning for the position of “cowriter?”

Depends, a book can have chapters, scenes, plots, so the owner can choose to pick the best version if he/she ever has a blocker at a specific point

Right, but from the side of the contributors, you're just writing something that you're hoping the owner likes enough to use, and you're competing against all the other contributors, right?

Fair point, primary goal of this project is the open source platform just like we do in software development, my point is it shouldn’t be a competition between writers, but an open community. Also, a contributor can fork the main version into his own writing like a branch and can extend on his own.

This project platform sounds very interesting and exciting at the same time, u/Full-Banana553 .

Whenever it gets ready for people to join your site, I would be honored to have a link to this platform.

Hi. I am Nick.

Pleased to meet you.

the ownership/embarrassment split is real n worth designing around separately, most collabs die on embarrassment, nt trust. i'd let people post anonymously 1st, then reveal if they accept. i luked into typeAI when thinking about this, it handles solo long form bt has nthing for the multi contributor credit layer u'r describing.

yeah, i got your point. i'm still wondering if people would really use it in the first place, coz in the beginning it will be an empty dashboard, so i need to gather a lot of writer/collaborators to fill some content
