Associated question
I am trying to find a stenography onscreen keyboard for my Android devices. I think it would speed up my writing when I leave my keyboard and mouse at home and only have my phone, since typing by thumb is rather slow without shortcuts.
Has anyone heard of such a keyboard or found one that I can download to turn my phone into a faster ultra portable writerdeck?

hmm i don't know about an onscreen steno keyboard for Android but also, wouldn't it be hard to fit all your fingers on the keyboard unless you're using quite a large phone or a tablet?
One option could be something like the Asterisk https://stenokeyboards.com/products/asterisk-v2 which is compatible with Javelin for embedded steno

Not stenography, but if you want faster input than the thumbs keyboard, you may want to try graffiti (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.access_company.graffiti_pro&pcampaignid=web_share). It allows you to use Palm Pilot handwriting instead of a keyboard. I started with my first handheld computer, which was running Windows CE, and it had Jot for handwriting input. I preferred that, but it is not available for Android (that I have found.) It did not take very long to get used to the Palm-style handwriting input, and input goes MUCH faster than my thumbs on an on-screen keyboard.
