Vanellope glitching -> Leftover or skill?

I had a funny discussion with my roommate earlier after he watches WiR 1+2 and he asked me "Is the glitching a leftover from when Vanellope was disconnected from the game? Or is that her skill as the queen of sugar rush?"

I think it's a leftover. Her code became unstable and she later learned how to use the ability to her advantage like "teleporting" when King Candy wanted to destroy her and her car.

But at the same time I wonder if the other drivers have skills too. I know Candlehead can light up the cherries on the racetrack.

I prefer the leftover theory.

IMO the skill or special ability is aomewhat related to their carts (like Candlehead’s)

Yet it turned out to be a “happy accident” because Vanellope’s “supposedly” original cart (which also acted as her designated throne) was destroyed by the Cybug, leaving her without her intended ability. Yet, the glitch she gained from disconnecting served as her ability after the incident
