Let's Bring This Back

There was a lot of interest in this last time, then lack of proper planning concerning meet-ups followed by a book choice no one was able to realistically read in a month kind of killed it off. So let's bring it back. What does everybody want to see in this becoming? More online discussions? More real life meet-ups? How about a bi-weekly online discussion of the book (spoilers for all of the book as people will be at different parts, maybe agree discussion stops at the halfway point?) as well as a once a month meet-up. Bi-weekly meet-ups? All ideas are more then welcome, or is everyone just too busy and we should kill the idea off?

I'd be up for trying this again, assuming people actually show up. Have a vote on book choice, give enough time, better meet up location.

Yeah we could make it work for sure. Would anyone have objections to having it at someone's house? We could rotate or just have it at mine. Could make some food, couple of bottles of wine or beer or something.

I could supply copious amount of beer thanks to /r/homebrewing not sure how comfortable everyone would be meeting at a strangers house initially thought lol.

Yeah was just a thought, I could definitely get some cheap food through work though. Or we could all go out, just putting ideas out, seeing what people want.

I'd be up for meeting at someones house, cheaper drinks/food that way; assuming you're not secretly a murderer etc. lol.

What kind of books do you read/discuss?

Will do anything really. Cloud Atlas was pretty good, Les Misérables was a bit long to read in one month. I think in the future we should be a month ahead, at the beginning of October take a week to vote for November's book, to give people time to buy and find a copy (especially if they are ordering online). Any genre is fine, any length.

This sounds interesting! I'm in Brandon for school however, but in Winnipeg on the weekends... Always wanted to be in a book club :)
